STEVEHOLS54
If we ASSUME Law/Kerr/Cairns (or another 2 pointer until July)/Thomsen/Cook/Rowe it leaves only 4.37. So no young talent who raced in POL U24 or other POL Lges. Also no young Dane/Swede who has raced in their main Lges. I may be wrong but it only leaves Starke/Trigger/Smith/Piper - Hook is rumoured elsewhere, and doesn't inspire any confidence anyway. Suppose could be an Aussie, but most of the half decent ones already ride in POL U24 and just like Andersen are a 5. Unless Kerr or Rowe are not in the mix. Would be surprised bearing in mind plenty came up with those 2 a long time ago.

Not sure if Howarth would fit, would probably prefer him over Kerr

Or could give you a Starke/Trigger reserve combo with Trigger on 3.00, so a stronger temporary Cairns replacement until July ? Still doesn't get us to 5 points left though so options still limited. I would not think Howarth as he is on a downward path. Kerr is a possible as several have mentioned.

Above average Dane in my opinion and a never give up attitude, just what most fans like. 1

Not sure i see the point of a stronger temp replacement for Cairns, also Toby came in on a 4 point average so why do we need to get to 5 points left. Not doubting that part, but don't come out with bs like numbers when it's simply their preference was an expensive Dane over a young British rider. I think he proved in the play offs that he is much better than his current average. 4.4 is a steal. In my opinion it wasnt a choice between Vinnie and Toby, always getting Toby, dropping Vinnie helps elsewhere in the team.

TheWellBehavedWorrall
I’m amazed by the disservice Thomsen is getting here. It wasn’t his greatest ever season, but 10+2, 11+1 and 8+3, including a win over Masters (the highest averaging home rider in the league) at Oxford across the final three cup final meetings of the season is remarkable from reserve. Being British and possessing potential is one thing, but if I’m a Poole fan, I’m delighted with Thomsen’s return.

We were fortunate with Thomsen that the Ford's found a rider in the Danish second tier who was av 7 plus who he could get on a 4 as it was outside the POL/DK/SWE top league rules. It was a risk that paid off in the end. I see no way anyway the Ford's wanting another expensive rider flying in/out on top of Thomsen. Maybe a young Aussie coming over and basing himself in UK is maybe different. If we had 5 points left it opens up lots of possibilities for a Young and Good Dane/Swe/Aussie who has ridden in the POL U24 Lge. With 4.32 after Thomsen announced closes that door effectively if it is Kerr/Rowe/or even Howarth when combining 2 of the 3. Hopefully the Ford's have someone decent lined up because the GSAs don'tt show much out there besides Starke and we could end up very weak in the 2 reserve berths. People seem to forget that Tobias' mid-season 'slump' was in part due to his injured ankle and like many riders, coming back too soon, as well as other off track stuff Inc becoming a father again. Even at the end when he jumped over the fence to kiss the trophy, he was still limping a little. Great to have him back on 4.41 leaving 20.19 for the remaining 4 riders. If that’s the team and it’s a 2.00 reserve then it’s almost a point under the limit which doesn’t make sense. May as well go for a new rider on a 4.00 or Jake Mulford on 4.27 rather than Starke, or they could have used the extra for a new 5.00 rider instead of Thomsen Edited Thursday at 04:32 PM by Marky_Mark

Good at Poole last season.
