So the 7 Prem clubs invite the 2024 Championship winners into the ko cup 1st round rather than have 3 meetings and a bye! What's not to like.......?

i know its a minority sport and hardly aybody has any interest in it ,but its to do with credibility we could have a team not in the premier league winning the premier league cup, could need 4 replacements a no1,a heat leader and 2 reserves perhaps which might have to change for every match,no offence gavan but i hope ipswich get knocked out then we could use doyle and sayfutdinov.Should just be called the invitation cup.why didnt they announce at the start of this sesaon that champioship winners would qualify?

Drawn against Sheffield in Prem ko cup first round and against Plymouth in Championship ko cup (surprise, surprise)!!

At least that was probably a "draw" in the Premiership.

Anyone else think there was no draw in Championship KO & just made it regionalised?

100%, even the winners of Edinburgh/Workington in the prelim round face Glasgow. This isn't coincidence.

Makes sense in a way, but isn't very credible

As much as it isn’t credible it makes sense on a sport that often seems to be on the precipice financially.

My team (Berwick) have drawn Redcar so more than likely I will attend both legs as will many other Bandits fans and Redcar fans vice versa which helps both promotions.

For once I actually think common sense is prevailing within our sport’s decision makers.

Agree it looks like that. Good for the clubs as well.

Hope not, a draw should mean a draw end of.

Run the Poole vs Sheffield tie as the last one of the round, any guests reqd can then be chosen from the riders from the losing teams in the other three ties. Just needs the running of the first round of the KOC to become a priority

Brilliant idea!

That way they can use the same guests throughout the competition (unless replacing their own riders, racing for the opposition).

No chance it was a random draw. I think it should be. The BSN is already regionalised. Also means there's less chance of a local derby for the final, although Oxford & Poole managed to miss each other this year.
