Who thinks up these micky mouse ideas ?? Tho does this open up the way for poole town fc to play in the champions league?

So the 7 Prem clubs invite the 2024 Championship winners into the ko cup 1st round rather than have 3 meetings and a bye! What's not to like.......?

Personally think it’s bonkers that the pirates cab ride in the premiership KO cup. Well it’s not even Poole it’s effectively a select side they can go with.

Must’ve been several pints down when they came up with this and thought it was a good idea.

Being as Poole are allowed to strengthen up to Prem standard, i wonder if there was a draw involving all the Champ clubs? I'm sure many lesser supported Champ clubs would of liked the opportunity for a bumper pay day as well..

They might be used against Sheffield, but if by some fluke we get to next round and draw a club one of these two rides for. We would have to use guests who haven’t probably ridden Wimborne Road for a few seasons, if ever.

is it just Poole invited to the]is comp? What if Cheetahs and drawn against Spires? Perhaps they could use guests who haven’t from the other team in heats they are not used.

It's just Poole as the Championship winners who are invited. The winners of Poole v Sheffield are against Brum or Leicester in the next round, so unless Zach is signed by Brum again (doubtful!) then shouldn't be an issue. But let's not get ahead of ourselves....its an extra home fixture.

I still think it's a shame we are not drawn against the spires, Harris would have been up for it 😛

Well speedway has just gone full on Mickey Mouse with this decision

Irrelevant that it’s Poole it’s a cup competition for the top league and the top league only

Basically it will be a Poole select side ….. as an Ipswich fan I don’t want Tom representing Poole and risking injury and not would whichever club Ben Cook rides for

Absolute farce of a decision

Exactly, it's means more opportunities to watch speedway at Wimborne Road, those who don't like the idea well there's a simple solution.

So now, when does the drip feed of team riders start?

Calm down Gav, it's only been provisionally accepted. Might not happen yet.

But every Ipswich rider races for other clubs, not sure how Brennan riding for Poole in the KOC is a great risk? Could just as easily get injured riding in Poland or even guesting for a play-off rival in the Premiership.

Would be good if the Poole KOC side was a mixture of this year & next year's team, rather than a team of guests.

For example (rumoured line-ups)

Sheffield

1. J Holder

2. A Rowe

3. C Holder

4. J Pickering

5. T Woffinden

6. D Gilkes

7. L Flint

Poole

1. M Janowski

2. Z Cook

3. R Lawson

4. T Brennan

5. B Cook

6. L Kerr

7. V Foord

Would these teams not pull in a big crowd?

6 of those I'd presume would be cup tied until their full time premier team is out of the competition?

So to make it less Mickey Mouse you'd have to put a 1-7 together that dont have a current Premiership side which IMO would be impossible

But then British Speedway lost all credibility years ago
