Poole 2025

If you are to believe what everyone is saying about Cairns joining when he is 16 then Poole may find it hard to get a reasonable Number 7 with the rider knowing he is likely to be out of a job come the Summer.

So it will be someone who does not want to earn any money!

Not necessarily. They just need to be on good form so it makes it hard to drop them from the team. Or do better than the other reserve (whoever that may be - so they get replaced instead). Although teams make changes during the season anyway so could get picked up by someone else if they are seen to perform well.

Blobby seems to think it's Trigger but whoever it is, at least they have a heads up to what is happening so it is their choice knowing it prob not for a full season.

That's a good point. Although exams normally end of May/beginning of June, so would very before his 16th birthday anyway.

Well his dad owns Leicester speedway so I guess he's based around there. Will has made it  clear he won't sign for his dad's team!!

The Cairns family are based in Hertfordshire but distance is no problem for them. They think nothing of hiring and driving up to Workington to have a practice for 3hrs .

Like most Leicester fans I am very disappointed that Will won’t ride for the Lions at present but understand and respect his decision maybe one day in the future. Although not sure if he may sign as a Lions asset and then be loaned to other clubs in a similar way that BV signed James Pearson then loaned him to Birmingham

Think all this hype on Cairns you would think he already a Heat Leader. He will not find it easy .IMO..PC,M Lee and Joe Screen  are ones I seen at that age ,is he in that mould already.Have not seen him live.

I too wonder about Cairns, is he really everything he's cracked up to be? How riders respond to a step up is never predictable, man amongst boys - boy amongst men etc. Think back to the contrast between Max Perry's and Vinnie's response to Championship competition. I wish Cairns all the best, but it's not a forgone conclusion that he's going to do great things.

He's under Herbie Hancocks umbrella & probably will be getting the monster sponsorship in the next season oor 2 without a doubt imo
