The Sport and specifically Championship needs a 21st century form of 1970's "Rider Control".

It worked well for a decade or so until Olsen / Mauger threw their dummies out of the pram. In fact in a pre social media age it generated a fair bit of excitement to see who you had been allocated, with twice as many teams and probably 10 x as many regular fans.

Even if they as an example graduated a Heat Leader list to furnish 2 per team; and a Second String list to furnish 2 per team; and then a stpulation one of the 3 remaining riders was 3 points or lower it would even things out a fair bit better than it is now.

IF any Rider objected, h could decide to sit out the CL, but as we all know, no CL heat leader can realistically just ride CL and that applies to the majority of second strings...

There's plenty of heat leaders & second strings who just ride in the Champ. I'm sure many would want to double up, but there's not enough Prem team spots to allow that.

Rory Schlein, Danyon Hume, Jye Etheridge, Paco Castagna, Kye Thomson, Lasse Fredriksen, James Pearson, Matic Ivacic, Jack Smith, Cameron Heeps, Ben Barker, Alfie Bowtell, Tobias Thomsen, Jake Allen, Simon Lambert, Troy Batchelor & Claus Vissing.

Think Starke would be a solid number 7 on his average

Not sure. His equipment is crap. So many EF’s. Rather have an ambitious youngster in the team.

No offence to Sam McGurk, but he could be considered an "ambitious youngster" but I'd never pick him ahead of Paul Starke.

I've never been a massive fan of too many restrictions, feel once you have a points limit then it's up to clubs to decide how to build their team. However I wouldn't be against the top 9 riders in the league being shared out (1 per club) then after that build your team to the limit?

As someone suggested a few posts ago, if you don't agree then you don't have a team, 10th best rider then becomes a number one?

Not sure if really want to go that way (forcing someone to go where they don't want to) though.

Don’t think that is feasible.Top riders wouldn’t like told where to ride, based on their other commitments alone.

Where are Vinnie and Sam going?

Thomsen was 50/50 for me done well majority of season but seems to have tailed off at the end.

If Poole go with

Lawson 9.17 with 2.5% reduction

Rowe 6.11 with 2.5% reduction

Z Cook 6.23

Total 21.51

hopefully they push the limit upto atleast 40 for the benefit of the league ideally 42 would be better but can’t see a huge increase upto 42 so 40 would be progress.

im assuming 2.5%reduction is still in place

would Poole go with someone to fit in between Rowe and Lawson in the averages…that’s the big question but I would be happy that Rowe signs as he’s definitely progressing every season.

If that’s correct then that’s Ashame continually get weakened year on year  where as they make the premiership stronger each year,a lot of championship clubs got to rip up there teams every year with this stupid 38pt limit for 7 riders essentially forcing riders to jump around and end up being less competitive every year so there ends up being there’s no continuity and then fan base dwindles.

Cheers

would of liked Vinnie to stay tbh you know the reasoning for Vinnie to Glasgow as I’m guessing Poole haven’t offered him a deal which seems strange.

With Vinnie's support team and advisors very much Southern-based - lets wait and see.

There is something of a debate amongst some Pirate fans that Vinnie will drop back to 2.00 pts for team building. Not sure where that has come from???
