Speedball
Despite all the troubles, the on track action at Lynn has been pretty decent this season, and for me, another enjoyable evening at the AFA. Thought the crowd was pretty decent considering the meeting was on TV and it was the third home meeting in a week. Some good close racing and as @tellboy said, a decent amount of passing on a well prepared track. Thought Fricke was a bit naughty on Jan coming off the second bend in Heat 11. Definitely looked and rode straight across him. But that only fired Jan up more and he got his revenge by winning 13 & 15 in style. Jan's signing has been a breath of fresh air. Everyone loves him and he loves being at Lynn. Nailed on for a 2025 team spot. Niels has just been phenomenal these past couple of months. Been so consistent home and away and must surely be in the mix for a team spot next season. Thoght Anders acquitted himself very well for his first appearance in the top 5 and his career is only going one way. Sure to be in demand in 2025. Thought Lewi rode really well also. Great pass on Lawson in Heat 8 and chasing hard all night and Lambert chipped in with some valuable points as well. Great third place when he passed Sam Masters in Heat 7 to get the 4-2 to draw us level. Bomber just did typical Bomber things. Some awful gating but very quick once he got going. Brilliant pass on Douglas in Heat 6. Thanks to Norick for stepping in as well. Sure he'd be the first to admit the AFA isn't his favourite track but credit to him for taking the booking and looking to improve all the time. For Leicester, I guess they didn't need to put themselves out there, but they were nowhere as dominant as when they came last time. When they won the first four races, I thought we might be in for a long night but proud of how the Stars dug in and got the job done.
Arch Stanton
I enjoyed this. Some good stuff at times. There are certain riders you look at and then look at their GSA and think “yeah that’s a bit of a cheat code”. Kvech on 6 and a half is one of those. Has a touch of class and looks an 8+ pointer all day long. Build a team over the winter with a couple of heatleaders above him, and that average will be upwardly mobile very quickly riding at 3/4. In comparison, King on 6.48, Kvech on 6.52. One would be an excellent signing for next year, the other not so much. Nothing against Danny btw, just pointing out that you have riders on near identical averages where one is clearly on the decline, whilst the other is heading in the opposite direction. paulboy
I thought that was one of the better televised meetings this year. I actually managed to sit through it which is a rarity nowadays, despite the usual commentary howlers (e.g. Chris Harris never fails to disappoint!)

Our averages always get dragged down because we are so inconsistent away, which is why we’re never in the play off hunt as we get hammered by 20+ away and can never get an aggregate point. I’ll cut Jan and Patryk some slack because it was pretty much their first time visiting most of the away tracks, but Basso for example Home GSA - 7.50 away GSA - 5.

You need to win your home meetings to keep the crowds, but must try and nick some agg points on the road, if your serious about top 4. I'm not sure on Basso. Both Paddy and Jan understandably haven't been good away either. Jan, Home 7.73 Away 5.16. But 100% should get the benefit of the doubt. Would be my first name on the team sheet. Paddy, Home 6.76 Away 2.82. How many can you have like this, would be my question. His equipment isn't the best either. He wouldn't be on my list for next season. Very early days of course.

I definitely wouldn’t keep Wojdylo either, he never seemed that settled in the team either - especially after Vadim and Tobi walked. I would certainly try my hardest to keep the core of the team that has finished the season intact. Interesting and quite cryptic post by KL today on social media calling Jan, NKI and Anders the 3 “pillars of consistency”, I read that as a hint towards next season, don’t know about anyone else…? Would that be the Leicester rolling start Lions by the names of Rowe, Iversen and Kerr who all received referee warnings?

And if you saw it on TV others who were not warned or caught. Douglas had his rear wheel rotating but nothing was done. That's how it goes I suppose. old bob at herne bay
Speedway out of the top drawer. Smashing meeting, although Leicester will be worried about momentarily losing momentum going into the business end of the season ….

TINYS
I'm of the opinion that as long as you don't touch the tapes and you get a flyer then what's the problem. All they are doing is penalising good gaters.

All they are doing is penalising good gaters. You either allow movement before the tapes move or you don't - getting a 'flyer' is nearly always moving before the tapes have. So if that's allowed then everyone will be - we could go back to pushing the tapes as well. It never seemed to be that controversial in years gone by (1973 world final excepted😉) but maybe it was easier to pass in those days given the nature of the bikes and tracks, which were often a lot lot rougher than those we see today. stevebrum
Only just caught up on this meeting. A decent meeting with a close scoreline to keep it interesting. However why the nonsense at the start talking about who finishes top and that Leicester could go top with 2 wins only for the Morris interview talking about why Leicester were given top spot and yet no mention of the fact that they now cannot top the table? Speedway really does make an embarrassment of itself.

Kvech would certainly be an obvious choice for next year (for any club). If Ipswich drop King, maybe he'll get a spot at Birmingham, who would probably prefer British based riders.
