If we can do it, then why can’t others? Ask the promoters.
phillwhitewasmad
With yesterday's announcement regarding more teams looking to join the national league it will be interesting to see what the points limit will be . Also will the upper level championship average be raised as currently will block several riders from competing. Will they stop riders doing all three leagues personally think anyone riding premier league shouldn't be in national league. Totally agree, if you're good enough to be racing against Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley etc surely you're too good to compete against Mark Parker & Jack Shimelt etc al

Max Perry for example wouldn't have had a team if they didn't change the rules after most teams were complete. This shouldn't need to happen if they planned ahead better! But still not ready to step up to the Prem fully.
Diamonds85
So when's the NDL 'agm' or whatever they have going to be? When are we going to find out which teams are competing?
Triple.H.
IMO every team should be aiming to run 2nd half races for junior riders, let riders book in advance so they know they're guaranteed 2-3 rides. Obviously major incidents or bad weather will impact on the time available to run the races, but if meetings started at the advertised time, no delayed start due to queues outside, unless a major RTA in the area. If everyone knows the parade is 7:15 and first race 7:30 its upto them to get into the stadium ontime. Barring major incidents or poor weather it should be easy to get 15 races done and dusted in 90 minutes, leaving a fair bit of time for some junior races. 1

Must be a fair few teams joining then if there's going to be enough for 2 divisions? There has to be at least 10 (from existing and new) for something like that to work surely

(Not sure on the Mildenhall situation) Never going to happen, I just don't understand where all the teams are going to appear from to create 2 divisions. Unless Oxford put 3 or 4 NL teams out 😁

HGould
The suggestion I have heard from an aspiring rider (now 15 years old riders parent) has a slightly different take on the rumours above. That is that the existing Clubs are happy with the size and structure and a few of them don't want nor can see viability in extra Fixtures above the current size. To facilitate the other existing clubs that want to join or rejoin (presunmably to fill some gaps in CL especially fixtures) and any new Clubs will have their own League run on the same agreed format with 6 man teams. That though will be a "win" for Riders as they can ride in the existing League and the new League, so potentially doubling opportunities to race. There will be no cross-over add on competitions though between the existing a new League. It will be interesting to see if this idea, or a more anticipated geographical structure sees the light of day.

How can you have two ‘leagues’ running with different team sizes and riders competing in both ? Doubling up is what has caused 80% of the issues in British speedway as it is . Sounds like a series of ‘Amateur challenge matches’ where anyone can enter.
szkocjasid
I can see where this idea has come from, clubs happy with 5 or 6 home matches, but riders wanting more than 10/12 fixtures. Would it be better to run as joint teams like Scunthorpe & Sheffield did? That way if a stand-alone team wants to enter (Eastbourne at Iwade) they can get a full season of racing?

[But no doubt we'll be told it is the dawn of an exciting new era!]
