if the achieving of a 4+ BCL average still applies then Killeen, Hagon, Foord, Thompson, Mulford, Harrison & Ablitt will not be able to ride BNL again.

Killeen, Hagon and Mulford would probably be prevented by the 3 leagues rule, Thompson shouldn't want NDL anyway and Ablitt should really be looking higher. I can understand the benefit of another year for Foord and Harrison so maybe the rule could be tweaked to say if average over 4 in CL the +1 added to NDL average?

The idea is/was to push riders up into higher leagues and stop blocking up the NDL. Providing the team building averages are kept the same the new inflated numbers should see Garrad, Vale, Hodder and Wood as the type of riders to take over the heat leader positions. Im not saying thats progress but it was the plan and direction that the league was being taken in and therefore should actually be stuck with whatever the outcome.

Two southern teams returning

Really hope thats genuine but fear its more speculative interest and will be scared off by the costs involved, add in that late entries often get to build with the scraps and the current teams will decide the rules with no say from any new side its hardly an appealing option anymore

What makes you think they'll bring in a "3 league rule" ?

Its one they appear to flip flop on whenever it suits so theres a 50/50 chance it could get voted in. Wouldn't matter if the over 4 CL rule stays and in all honesty Killeen might be the only one interested in doing NDL next year anyways

It was announced at Iwade last week that Michael Grey and David Graveling have applied to join the NDL running at the track with a Sussex Kent team..

So if three more teams do come in where are the riders of sufficent level coming from . Will they go with 6 man teams as this would free up 6 riders from this years teams. Will they up the average limit for championship riders allowing them to stay to aid development. Its going to be intresting to see.

Sort of like it was 4 or 5 years ago when it truly developed riders who then could compete properly at Championship level instead of the state it's in now. Think unfortunately we probably know the answer...

6 man teams seem a good idea whatever happens.

Rumours that there will be another northern NDL team , to fill up the clubs fixture list, but as previously saidâ€Ĥwhere are the extra riders to come from ?

Teams struggled last season to fill the spots with a number of juniors thrown in just to make the numbers up on occasions.

No one can guess what gems the top table will / already have come up with as the ridiculously named ‘rising star’  programme has already been ‘arranged’ and rider signings already announced so they already know what they are going to do with the top two divisions.

The sport desperately needs a proper NDL system with many more fixtures than last season where riders can develop over time , not just ride every four weeks and hope we unearth a large crop of British youngsters, not just the odd one . They said they were going to have all sorts of opportunities for NDL standard riders last season, three individual meetings doesn't bare that out to me.

The sport is dying from the bottom up because of the way its being run, lets hope a miracle happens and they get the mess sorted out.

There have usually been more than 6 teams in the NDL, so providing riders who didn't get signed this year, there should be riders out there to fill up new teams. I'd also recommend 6 man teams (5 rides each to aid development) and probably relax the 4.00 Champ rule.

Surely they’ll just set the rider criteria to fit the number of clubs taking part. Be great if more teams get involved as the fixture list was very sparse this season. Play offs should be back now the Cairns thing is out of the way which will means more for those lucky enough to qualify.

I find the quality of Colts meetings to be very high and hardly distinguishable from the main lads to a newbie. The younger rounds can be less so but it’s still great to see the progress being made each time they visit.

With the rumours of a Northern Club being mentioned that rules a few out and really only singles out Glasgow as being that Club people are on about.

Berwick - Stated in past they won't have Bullets back to allow them to concentrate on the Bandits

Workington - stated NDL wasn't really supported and fans wanted Championship Racing

Both Edinburgh and Redcar already run NDL

Question is do they splash the pounds for a winning Team of established Riders like Leicester/Belle Vue do or produce a young team of their own through development for future Championship places in the Tigers?
