Ipswich vs Birmingham Thursday 29th Aug

Recommended Posts

Danny King should score 7 a meeting that’s what his position in the team is

Doyle and Emil 13… Ellis and King 7 … Dan T and Rew 5 and Jenkins 3….. that’s 53 points a meeting

I’m an Ipswich fan and yes sometimes it’s frustrating seeing Danny struggle but since back from injury he has scored 7 twice … 8… 9 twice and 10 and 12……. Good scores I would say at home or do some of our fans expect him to match Doyle and Emil
Our team is built top heavy … but built superbly well that we have the next 2 riders in Ellis and King who regularly get 7 or more to support the top 2

Since losing Emil it seems King is a scapegoat for us losing … he isn’t going to get 10-12 most weeks he isn’t that level

Strangely King has a better average than Brennan,, so has obviously done okay.

Not in the 2024 averages. King 6.15 Brennan 6.82

Well done the Brummies on an away win. Gotta feel for the Witches fans as they can’t get a win anywhere and are bang out of form carrying too many injuries.

Every other team will be fighting for top position to face them in the PO’s.

It’s not since losing Emil that King has become a scapegoat, a lot of supporters have been frustrated/ fed up with him for the last 3 or 4 years.

For a guy who has spent the bulk of his career at Ipswich he is beaten by riders around Ipswich who he should be comfortably getting the better of.

He gets passed far to easily & does seem to ride the lines that don’t work.

As the skipper he can’t team ride to save his life either blocks his teammates lines or just clears off out front sometimes even passing he own partner.

when the chips are down be that a single heat or meetings like the ones against Sheffield, or both meetings against Birmingham this week he just goes missing.

I think he has genuinely gone stale at Ipswich & needs a move to revitalise his career as much as Ipswich needs the change too. We need someone with some more improvement in them next year.

His demeanour on the TV against Sheffield wasn’t skipper material he looked beaten & downtrodden. We need our own Sam Morsy to skipper the Witches & that man in Doyle.

2024 Inc bonus it's King 6.50 Brennan 7.56

Tom is also outscoring Danny in the Championship this season.

Not going to lie there are times when i feel he should and could do better but overall he isnt the reason why things have gone wrong in 2024

Plus one rider is upwardly mobile, the other is heading in the other direction. Brennan will be hot property this winter. He’s been booked by Ipswich to cover all remaining cup and play off meetings for Ipswich.

This was one of the better meetings of late. Some good racing at times on an excellently prepared track. Another warm day so wasn’t easy so well done Bob and the track staff.
