Monarchs v Scorpions BSN 1st leg

Recommended Posts

Not much interest in this one so it seems? Both sides with normal 1 to 7s.  With Glasgow rained off and winds blowing rain clouds towards Edinburgh, will it go ahead?  Hoping for the Scorpions to steal a win ,or at least keep it close, so we can win the 2nd leg.

Beaten by the better team. That’s it. No lack of effort from our boys, and fair play to Scunny. Hope Sedgy is okay!

Thought Howarth’s move on Picko was hard but fair. Sure they’ll have kissed and made up already, Sheffield fans!!

Lambert cleaning out Lasse and Connor, and Lasse getting excluded was another Dishington special!

When is the 2nd leg though?

I notice the previously announced 6th September now has Scunny facing Poole in the KOC SF. Surely it can’t be the week after either with Edinburgh already hosting Scunny in the NL and actually hosting a double header that night. That’s far too many riders missing at Armadale to make that meeting viable.

This has come about by dictate from Rob Godfrey. Glasgow now at Armadale on the 6th as part of the dictate. You are correct that three teams are due in action at Armadale on the 13th but suspect the BSPL chairman could not be bothered about the NDL matches being mucked about again if 13th is set as 2nd leg.

Needed sedgmen in that one ,picko pressured with the scorpion sting

Justin started off well then had his unfortunate fall. Hopefully not out for any time.

Cab Direct Championship takes priority to get all the league fixtures completed.

And to think that people want a second round of league fixtures added.

Only 8 league matches to fit in and they aren't completed by the end of August. Will be racing in November with another set of fixtures added.

May be the case but not the way it was apparently communicated.

Berwick completed 8 league fixtures on 10th August against Worky and still had gaps in their home fixtures of up to a month. Not great by any means. 16 meetings with good fixture planning should be quite achievable.

Only if teams agree to use their alternative race nights when racing fellow Friday nighters AND NDL fixtures are staged on their own separate nights and don't block Championship meetings.

Rider availability can be the problem for alternative race nights.Riders dictate instead of Promoters.

I agree entirely with your post.

Problem being other teams won't rearrange meetings if riders are injured or racing elsewhere which is probably the reason the league fixtures aren't completed yet (despite only having 8 league fixtures to fit in).

Yes, only having 8 league fixtures to-do shocking most haven't when they say at the start of the season what the cut off date is they should stick to it.
