Well, that was a meeting Ipswich could've won. Rew, Jenkins, Thompson and Cook seemed terrified of the outside line, in heat 2 they kept trying to go on the inside of Mulford but Bewley had already shown the outside was working. Finally, when Jenkins was forced to go wide by Nicholls in heat 11 he found it worked. That was a great race by Scott who rode inside and out to thwart Bewley.

Thompson seems to have gone backwards at Foxhall in recent meetings and anyone giving up before the chequered flag will get criticism from me. They can turn it around and Witches fans will be hoping they do.

Please don't book Zach Cook again - sods law he'll get a hatfull next week🙂

Zach and his machinery were doubtless feeling a bit 2nd-hand after his visit to the pit bend air fence on Wednesday courtesy of Sam Mcgurk!!

Fair play to all those that attended tonight. It’s difficult turning up knowing your team is 99% certain to lose but there were more than I expected. I was there because I had no choice due to work, but I wouldn’t have been there otherwise. it isn’t our year obviously and it’s really hard work at the moment. On a brighter note, I saw some baubles in a shop today. Merry Christmas.

Obviously the Ipswich promotion didn’t think many would turn up last night and my friends turned up at 7.15 and they had run out of programmes!!!! That crowd wasn’t that big.

They had ordered 600 programmes but they were split into two packages and only one arrived at foxhall.
much better crowd than anticipated too. Fair play to all who went.

600 programmes  …is that all they get nowadays at a PL match.? Whilst not everyone buys a programme, amazed that they have a viable business with the pay rates of modern day riders.

I would think only one in three or four people buy a programme nowadays.7 of us stand together and only two of us buy a programme. Last night there was 5 of us with only me with a programme.

Shame as Zach scored really well for Woves at Foxhall in 2023 so I was hoping / expecting more.

Decent effort but not enough - nice to see Jordan getting some decent points. I wonder if the Witches can buck this dip and beat Birmingham next week I actually have that down as one they can perhaps win.

Although I’ve only come into the sport a few years back and never claim to know that much about it, I still feel like going to each home meeting is worth it. I live in Ipswich so I guess I don’t have to travel far but the team try and they are in the final and the play offs so I believe showing some support is always key and back the team. They have given us a great year so far even with injuries. To not back them now seems disappointing, win or lose it doesn’t matter. The sport needs building for sure, but everyone can be part of it.

Only one team brought a rider in just for the play offs alone. That was play off Bob in 2022. Thankfully the rules have been changed back to stop teams doing this again, particularly as just the one team benefited from it.
Poole brought in Hancock a month before the play offs also.
Both above board.

As you say Steve, Belle Vue acted within the rules.

I know that in the past, the advertising in the programme subsidised the printing - so there's no profit to be made.

That was a great effort from all the boys on Thursday, if Rew hadn’t crashed out we’d have won that…Can’t blame the boy he was riding his socks off he looks much more confident this season. Hopefully he isn’t to badly injured & will be fit for next week.

Jenkins was good value again those last 3 rides were superb!

I disagree that Thompson has gone backwards yes he isn’t scoring as freely but the experience he is gaining in the top 5 will make him a better rider.

Nicholls just continues to be superb around Foxhall could really do with a squad system next year to allow him to ride when possible.

King scored well & turned up unlike on Monday.

Cook was a little disappointing but did look better in his last ride.

Some entertaining racing & a decent mini come back from the Witches.

I know Scott ran Jenkins a little wide on the second turn but after that some great team riding from him playing guard dog. I’m at a loss as to why the skipper can team ride like that instead of passing Jenkins & leaving him to it.

The track again was back to being slicker, and much easier to ride. Just like most of the season when the weather hasn’t intervened. You can understand why they prepared the track like they did against Sheffield considering what happened last year on a similar track, but the racing suffers as a result.

There was one superb move by Nicholls in this meeting. Was ahead of a clearly faster Bewley in one heat, but when Bewley made his move up the inside of bend one, he had to get off the gas as Nicholls read it brilliantly and cut right across the front of him from the outside and ended his challenge there and then. You could see Nicholls looking over his left shoulder entering the turns. That’s what experience does for you.

It would be interesting to see what Scott's Premiership "guesting" average is this season

In the top 10 I would think...

I really don't  give a fig what your opinion is and you carry on believing that only your opinion counts. I could not care less what vitriol you and many others spout and I am simply not bothered about thoseb who cannot accept criticism of any sort particularly Ipswich supporters who cannot believe anyone should have a cross word against the club.I stopped contributing to live speedway a while back like so i am ahead of your request and already comply with your demands and have long ago left the live version of sport like so many who can longer be bothered with speedway or this forum

"I stopped contributing to live speedway a while back". So how do you feel able to criticise events that you do not witness? Wonderful things, keyboards!
