Neila
Substantial damage caused at GT Tyres Arena due to storm Unfortunately, the Workington Comets GT Tyres Arena has suffered substantial damage from the high winds this weekend causing damage to the pits roofing and structure. As the Supporters Club we are looking to reach out to our amazing fans, sponsors or local businesses for any assistance they can provide at this time. With the 2025 season fast approaching this is a major set back in preparations for the club as they are currently working on improvements to the GT Tyres Arena and the damage caused will create a set back both financially and in time. Anyone who wishes to help out please contact ourselves or the club via social media or by the email address below... info@workingtoncomets.com Thanks, Team WCSC Go fund page set up, will try and sort a link, but look on comets supporters club Facebook for details

paul84
Fantastic effort on the Go fund me page raising money to help the club after the recent storm damage to the pit area. The running of the club won’t be cheap anyway let alone these setbacks so it’s great to see people helping out financially and going down the track to offer help. Remember Andrew and the promotion own and run this club but it’s the fans club too so let’s support them on and off track! Already excited for the season to start. Give us a C !!!

Correct decision by Andrew and team to go with Batchelor instead. I think it was the correct decision anyways but this just proves it.

Neila
Bit of a shake down for the Comets riders today at the press and practice, frazer bowes looked very impressive, and the new viewing area on bend 3+4 gave a good view, so now if any dust on bend 1+2 you can now escape it. The new toilets are ready to use, the GT tyres northside arena is looking even more impressive UTC

Woke23
Impressed with all the riders today. I know it's only practicing but I thought everyone looked quick. Bowes took to the track really well. The improvements to the facilities are top notch. The air fence, refs box, new toilets, and expansion of the viewing is impressive. We now have the best track in the league and with a few more improvements it could be the best overall. 2

Probably better than Poole.
Marksman
The winter improvements at the GT tyres arena are fantastic, fans visiting for the Championship pairs next week will notice some major improvements from last season including dedicated toliet blocks, food huts, 1st/2nd bend disabled ramps, Cafe on the 1st bend including an extended balcony, a permanent referees box, the viewing area that now spans across the whole 3rd and 4th bend and a brand new FIM A+ rated air fence to name a few. It's remarkable what's been done in a short space of time from nothing! 👏 Also you can now walk around the whole arena because of the work to create a new viewing area on bends 3 and 4.
