Wasn't 2022 a much stronger league though?

If it was, it means Hook's first season is even more impressive than Leibmann's.

With the weaker leagues, you'd expect riders to put a little in their average each season, but Hook's done more than that.

Agree they look good at home, Batchelor (8.96), Zischke (9.38) & Vuolas (8.74) is a tremendous heat leader trio at home. Will certainly be much stronger at reserve. Not sure if say the team is stronger than this years with Cook & Vissing, replaced by Bowes & Etheridge in the top 5, I don't think the increased reserve strength cancels that out.

But the league is weaker than last year, with play-off rivals Poole Oxford & Scunthorpe all weakening, so that's not a dig at the Workington team.

I think Craig Cook and Paul Stark will be missed. Vissing has never turned in the performances I was expecting unfortunately I think he is probably bound for Edinburgh, although  Poole and Plymouth arent complete yet

He's hardly coming to Poole unless he has a 2.90 average

Dickie?

Patrick.  A quick look through Google and I can't see anything after 2019, so I'm guessing he has quit??

So Mr.Baines has stated the departure of Cookie was purely down to numbers.

However, cookie, with his reduction, would've fit in the team over Batch. Therefore, they have decided to choose Batch over Cook.

I think having Batch at number 1 puts us in a position where we have one of the worst number 1s in the league.

7 riders make the team

I couldn't care less who has strongest no1 or strongest no6 and 7

It's a team sport

Pretty sure we won the league and two cups in 2018 without a regular number 1...

You aren't one those folk who were spitting their dummies out on social media when they announced Cook wasn't coming back were you! 🤣

i mean its a fair question

perhaps the extra stuff that comes with cook topped the balance in batch's favour

Yeah probably tipped the scales in him not returning. From a supporter view point Craig appeared to let the club and himself down toward the back end of the season. Not turning up at Redcar apparently without notice isn't what fans and management expected from the skipper. It's a shame because everyone loves a local hero to get behind and that was Cookie.
