Now for the new era to kick on and bring back the glory days of the past... starting with the Best Pairs on April 5th Edited November 15 by AndiCapp

Maybe a few off track issues may not have helped like running R/R at Redcar in a crutial meeting. Speedway is a numbers game and while the numbers dictate teams that maybe give the club no option. Whatever 7 the promotion put together will have my full backing. Im sure that whatever team represents the Comets we will be behind them come April. Naturally speedway is an expensive sport to run and promote which if you read each clubs pages they all would love more paying customers. We have one MASSIVE selling point.. Our Track. It is widely regarded as one of the best in British Speedway and a blueprint many current or lost clubs could only dream of. Looking forward to seeing our team release over the coming months. I was at Redcar that night along with many other Comets fans. We were only given a facility to use Rider Replacement because of the goodwill of the referee. It seemed that the club only found out Craig wasn't coming about an hour before tapes up having reportedly been informed by Dayle Wood. The travelling fans were not happy. It just seemed very unprofessional.
TheWellBehavedWorrall
That statement from Cook is in such bad taste. ”I wish the Comets all the best for 2025”, having just brought their moral compass into question by accusing them of going back on their word. I love Craig Cook, the rider. However, Craig Cook, the person, desperately needs to distance himself from childish finger-pointing on social media and if I’m honest, drama in general. Time to grow-up before it’s too late.
TTT
I don't understand this decision especially considering that Vuolas and Vissing are unlikely to return. No replacement available either unless the management want to take a punt on injury prone Palm-Toft, Other than MPT nobody else is available on a 7+ GSA. Pickering, Brennan & B. Cook -> Not riding in the Championship. Lawson & Kerr -> Poole Harris, D. Thompson & Howarth -> Glasgow Masters & Nicholls -> Oxford Wright & King -> Redcar S. Worrall & Allen -> Scunthorpe Schlein -> Berwick Sedgmen & Castagna -> Edinburgh

That combined with the strongest reserves in the league is probably how the team will line up in 2025. Plus in my opinion we have the most exciting talent in the league on a sub 7 point average who will outshine a lot of those riders on your list The same was said last winter when people assumed we’d be signing the likes of Theo Pijper and Simon Lambert as second strings… Edited November 16 by Marksman

Hold tight folks next season team is running on a shoe string.. Rumours the club is in financial ruin and this could prove it. Workington will not replace Cook to same standard or above. They don't have to, could just build the team with more strength in depth, use the spare points not used on Cook for a stronger number 7 than McGurk or another 2.00 rider. 2ndbend123
There will be 3 unknowns in the Workington next season never to have rode in England before building the assets base up which would suggest Batchelor will be number 1 and Tate at

Marksman
The way our teams keep being built is certainly different to the norm in terms of how other teams approach it from a continuity perspective. Builds excitement, not every overseas signing will be a Tate Zischke, but it certainly gets people talking about the club and brings new riders to our shores, which is only a good thing for both parties. Poole could fit in a strong team with Foord in it (Lawson, Kerr, Z Cook, Rowe, Thomsen, Foord, 2.00 reserve) they wouldn't have to drop him, so it's not really a case of "they had to drop someone". With Brennan & B Cook gone, didn't have to drop anyone else. But whoever gets Foord will be please with his scoring imo, think Workington would suit him well.
