Yeah lithium ion battery fires are incredibly hot and very difficult to extinguish I believe. Personally I have not got much interest in electric cars. Definately on the fuel, but always thought it wasn't beyond the ability of manufacturers to get around 100mpg and 150bhp with extremely low co out of a 1.0litre petrol engine without the ecological disaster of getting the lithium for electric cars. Still think the way it should of gone first, no one wants second hand electric cars and disposal is a nightmare.
