Hearing reports of fire bridge at northside last night

There was a fire involving lithium ion batteries in a commercial premises on Isabella Road which I assume is the recycling business near Workington harbour. Eight appliances involved and a platform ladder.

Was told the refs box was on fire

But you never know how true reports are

If that's right about the battery storage place that's the 3rd time  and everyone is pushing electric cars

Lithium ion batteries are good but very very dangerous

Hope there wasn't a fire at the GT Tyres Arena.

Yeah lithium ion battery fires are incredibly hot and very difficult to extinguish I believe. Personally I have not got much interest in electric cars. Need to get moving on Hydrogen and Biofuels me thinks.

Definately on the fuel, but always thought  it wasn't beyond the ability of manufacturers to get around 100mpg and 150bhp with extremely low co out of a 1.0litre  petrol engine without the ecological disaster of getting the lithium for electric cars. Still think the way it should of gone first, no one wants second hand electric cars and disposal is a nightmare.

Anyway hope alls well at the track

Hope not at the track

Regarding future car developments,  apparently BMW and hyundai now have hydrogen engines on advance trials, upto 900 mile on a tank BMW claim

better off with a pedal car . any of the other types of fuel used will make your life very short and crispy .  .

Yes, I sense history will ultimately show electric cars to be "the Betamax" of the motor vehicle!

900 miles on a tank would be enticing.

JCB have been working on hydrogen engines for their diggers since at least 2020. Remember watching a YouTube video on this, seem to remember the intention was for the smaller less intensively used diggers to be electrified while the bigger more intensively used would be hydrogen powered.

Does anyone know if craig cook will be signing for Workington next season

I don't know, but would be highly surprised if he wasn't, he's back training hard again in the boxing gym. Even if the points limit is 40, I can't seen both Batchelor and Cook in the same team again given the averages Zischke/Voulas have.

Can’t see Batchelor being back. Cook nailed on to be back, will be Top 5 riders easily next year in Championship. Hopefully they’ve got team sorted earlier than last year

If you hear something at the presentation night, it wont have come from the AGM as it hasnt taken place yet !

That's why I said on the team front, plenty of contracts and announcements are being made pre-AGM.

Probably depend on who along with Tate is coming back and the rubber stamping of the widely rumoured 40 point average at the AGM.
