It was last year that it was said that they wanted a bigger gulf in standard between the Prem & Champ.

An arguement is that riders race 4 times over 14 heats which is 42 points & that is NEVER going to happen.

They have ruined the sport in the last 10 years trying to protect the Premiership.IMO.Self interest and Tv money is all that matter too them.

Sam has to show that he wants it bit like Luke Harrison, Vinnie Foord, Sam Hagon, Ben Trigger to name 4. He has had one of the best tracks in British Speedway to race on these last two years and I'll leave it up to you to tell me if you think he has shown any improvement. We all wanted him to do well.

i know what you are saying .  .  still , it cold be worse . we may have claus back next year . will look forward to that one meeting where he scores a max  . against us   !

I can confirm that was said but with his average increasing significantly and a potential lowering of team averages it is yet to be confirmed he can be fitted in

I said at the start of the season this situation would happen, there have should have been some kind of average retention policy brought in for retaining the new batch of 2.00 riders.

It would only apply to new 2.00 riders retained at the same club for the following season. A 15% cut would reward clubs for developing said rider and reward the rider with another team spot for making progess in the sport, not penalising for doing well!

Luke's 4.43 would become 3.77, which can become alot more inviting for team building purposes.

Whether things like this are even discussed are another matter.

Good interview with Antti Voulas in this weeks speedway star,  said he enjoyed 1st season in the uk, learning the tracks in both leagues,  and wants to return to the UK next season,  and with the comets as well . Hope it happens UTC

Successful 1st season for Antti in the UK, a Premiership winners medal ain't bad. During the regular season he was generally really strong round Northside. if he could reproduce his home form around more of the away tracks next season he would be good value on his average. Very level headed, professional with reliable equipment .

Couldn't have put it better myself. At home he was unstoppable. Down that back straight he picks up some incredible speed. His equipment seems top notch and his brother must be a top mechanic.

He can consistently score 10+ at home but his away form requires improvement. I'm hoping the experience he got this season with us and Belle Vue will help him improve.

I don't think there was anything wrong with Antti's away from. For example if he got 6 at home, 4 away & 5 overall, everyone would say that's a very acceptable first season for a rider new to Britain & no-one would be questioning his away form.

But as his home average is nearly 10, it makes his away ave look poor by comparison, when really it isn't.

Compare him to James Pearson, rumoured to be getting dropped by Glasgow, presumably for his away form, yet his supporters defend him saying he's "only" had 3 seasons over here, Vuolas outperforms him away in his first season.

Obviously if you're looking for improvement next year, as you do with every rider, his away form is the obvious target, well his home form can't get much better lol! But that should naturally happen in his second season.

Just looking at u19 champ results. Some good riders amongst them. Who would you take out them all for reserve rider(s)?

I'm a bit torn on Ace. He's obviously got potential, done well yesterday, but got dropped by Glasgow this year. He's on a 3.01 average.

There's also Jody Scott and Freddy Hodder who would be worth a shout. I'm not sure if they'll come, and I reckon Oxford have first dibs on Scott.

The knowledge of away tracks will come. Didn’t  Chris or Kelvin state he improves on his second visit
