Phil Morris explanation regarding rider replacement and guests is just putting a plaster over the real problems with speedway in this country. If the rules had allowed for signings for injured riders things might be different, but no, the powers that be went for the broad brush approach. His excuses for where the sport is because of rider shortage is not acceptable and since when have those in charge given a second thought to Joe Public. He is talking as much horse s..t as the BSPL.

We will never be like Poland. And we shouldn’t even try being. Of course we want to be like them but when old Doris next to you complains to the stewards because you cursed a few bad words and shouted loudly you don’t stand a chance

Whilst our last encounter with the Stars was no classic there were 6 decent races after bend 3 lap 1 and an additional 3 passes on bend 3 lap one, or so the markings of my programme indicate. If the Stars gate it should entertain me though not the gate’n’go fans at home. The lack of a close score will also put them off no matter how many exciting (to me) races there are. Not one for the modern purist I’m afraid.

In the end a much better match than expected - KL had a good go ultimately not strong enough and last 3 heats saw the Aces run away with it a bit which belies the effort the Stars made - Hope you enjoyed it!

Just think what the score would have been if Basso had been riding and not Harris and the bad start after 4 heats :(

Just think what the score could, not would have been as you put it,had Klindt been riding or Musielak decided to return. All if's,but's and maybe's but the score is what it is and that's a fact.

Used to think he could do a good job and help turn the sport around, but now just spouting bulls%it

Unfortunately the Polish scene knocks spots off the UK presentation and any rider worth his salt would rather ride in front of a packed crowd with an atmosphere that is second to none compared to the sparse speedway support that turns up at a UK stadia. Those that ride in Poland and frequent UK teams/tracks are simply topping up the pension. If you are a regular who watches on Kergel then you will understand the phrase chalk and cheese when watch weekend racing from Poland versus what is served up from the UK Clubs. The UK broadcaster cannot ever offer a comparable form of entertainment no matter who are the commentators and if they had any sense they would quietly part the sport in some dark corner and leave it to BSN to show the best bits from the lower leagues.

With the Tosh from Tratum and Schlieme from BSN think it would be better to get some people who actually know nothing to do the presentation, commentating and actually do it better!

What was the attendance last night , looked quite low from the TV pictures.

Why does someone always ask this on every thread where a meeting is shown on eurosport? Gets a bit boring after a while. We know it affects attendance....

Every club gets a certain amount of money from eurosport for a TV meeting the crowd was normal& healthy  it's a big stadium  not like others

I felt the score didnt reflect the effort Kings Lynn put in, the last three heats flattered us a bit.

At 5pm just over 700 tickets had sold I. Grandstand. Wouldn’t have been many walk ups so probably about 800 in there. So less than half full which makesnit

look empty.

id say about 500 in south. So not the best but for a TV meeting and it being kings lynn (no offence) it was ok

I have to say that for such a great track where great racing is almost guaranteed, it was a shame to see such an empty stadium on Eurosport.  It is not good for the sport to attract a new audience (or even keep the old audience) when the best stadium in the country looks near empty.  I felt the same during SON when the temporary stand was up and empty each night until the final and then only a smattering of people.

Sadly the sport in the UK continues on the decline in terms of attracting people's disposable income and possibly because they are trying to use a formula that has been used for 50+ years that has brought about its decline.  They need to look for ways of making speedway great again or at least stopping its decline.
