Not surprised. Guess just have to start the season later instead. Good Friday not till 18th April next year, so assume proper fixtures start around then.

Would be the sensible thing to do

Fixture list last year was a shocker

July a busy holiday month was virtually empty

If not 2H 2A  make at least League cup 2 groups not three or open with 2 challenge matches

6 blank Saturday's not including the 2 for British Final & Cardiff still finished by Aug 10th.

Perhaps they thought many would be away on holiday, so decided not to run on those dates?

Next season will have an extra blank Saturday inserted for the Belle Vue GP.

I have always believed that, especially with a lighter fixture-list, clubs should consider starting quite a bit later, mid- to late-April at the earliest, and thus offer their prospective patrons a greater continuity of fixtures over the warmer, lighter months.

Start at Easter (April 19 is the Saturday) and even if last year's clean sheet with the weather was to be repeated (hah!) the bare minimum BSN , KO Cup and Championship fixtures -- having allowed for two GPs and the British Final to be mandatory blank Saturdays -- would take things through to the end of July.

With the possibility of rearranged dates for rained-off meetings, plus the pleasant thought of progress in a couple of the competitions, that's the season running on to  the end of August at least.............

Gavin Parr said on a podcast this week that Redcar couldn’t do 2H & 2A. Main reason is that Redcar are 1 of 4 Friday night teams & this would mean Redcar had to have 7 off day home fixtures to make it work. 🤷‍♂️

Let's not forget, though, that Redcar were a Thursday track (even going back to the Cleveland Park days), but had to move off a Thursday when the Prem Lge took that day off them.  Since then, Glasgow have moved their racenight to a Friday as well and they can race pretty much when they want, so why can't they move their racenight to a Saturday or a Sunday?  What all this adds up to is clubs are unwilling to go 2H & 2A, simply because it means moving racenight if they are a Friday club.

Glasgow race nights were always a Friday historically, it was late 80s early 90s it moved to a Sunday when we moved  to Shawfield.

The crowd  on  Friday is larger than a Sunday as stated by the owners so moving away from a Friday and lose money by doing so ain’t happening.

There used to be a rule regarding ‘seniority’ where the older club who ran on that night got priority on a fixture night class but Glasgow blew it out of the water when they went back to Fridays ( 2018 ? ) . Redcar had Fridays as their fall back night so should have had ‘seniority’ over Glasgow but now it’s who shouts the loudest and you can guess who wins that…..Scunthorpe? Glasgow ?
You think Redcars crowd doesn't suffer on an off night ?
