You can't go through life in your echo chamber ignoring people.

And also, you won't get to feel so superior, as well as obviously getting that wonderful satisfaction at laughing at the odd Neanderthal that still roams the world...:D

Seriously though,  I think questions should be asked in Parliament about the issues facing the Lions and the Bandits from the Leicester and Berwick Upon Tweed MP's...

It must mean so much to the lives of so many of their constituents....

I am sure Sir Keir would take great interest in such a major situation, as it will dwarf whatever else he currently is dealing with...:D

Edit. Sir Keir has just answered a question about the issue and his response was...

"Speedway? Is that still going?"...:D

Irrespective of whether Cook rides for Berwick or he doesn`t, and no matter what statement the Berwick management cobble together, I think the vast majority of Berwick`s fans will have already made their minds about Cook.

His future at Berwick is virtually untenable even now and that`s before a wheel has been turned.

You seem to be someone who has plenty to say on the matter but doesn't have a clue about mental illness, what it entails, varying forms of it and how it affects people differently.

But most importantly, NOBODY knows what is really going on apart from Craig and his family. So maybe pipe the hell down and be patient for official news, because at the moment you are just coming across as heartless, and most of all, stupid.

I agree huge majority of the fans haven’t a clue what’s going on regarding Craig Cook.Surely a simple statement from the Promotion saying that Craig is having personal problems which they are trying to resolve(if that is the case?) would have been suffice.Instead we get all sorts mixed messages from people which doesn’t help anybody(Club or Fans or the sport).

From the Northumberland Gazette 2 days ago:

Dane Peter Kildemand is back on a bike after serving a nine-day concussion ban while countryman Bastian Borke is back riding after major knee and leg surgery over the winter.

New signings Sam Hagon and Craig Cook will be familiarising themselves with the home side of Shielfield Park’s pits bay while Dayle Wood will be the busiest man of the day.

The charismatic 30-year-old Australian will pose for the assembled media in his new R.E.D Bandits, powered by STS kevlars before heading north to Armadale where he will race for the Monarchs Academy in their opening National Development League fixture of the season against Middlesbrough Tigers.

Interestingly it mentions Craig Cook will be there.

Kildemand now not riding at Oxford tonight

Yes, that old chestnut, he did ride in Poland didn't he? I thought I read it on here somewhere.

Let the inconsistencies begin 🎲🎰

Where did you get that information from?

As far as I can see he hasn’t ridden in Poland for a quite a while now, he also hasn’t ridden in any of the pre season individual meetings across there either.

The reason he can commit to Berwick is partly due to his lack of overseas commitments, by the looks of it he is only committed to Britain and Denmark currently and the Danish season hasn’t started yet.

I thought I read it on here somewhere, I could very easily have been mistaken though, it has been known to happen. I may have been getting him confused with Paco, who withdrew from the pairs, it could have been him that was riding abroad on the Sunday.

Paco I believe was due to ride abroad on Sunday therefore couldn’t fill a spot in the CLRC but also withdrew from the Pairs due to a crash he had at Armadale on Friday.

Paco not racing for Edinburgh tomorrow night as racing abroad (seen Drew guesting for him).

Possibly that also.

The only thing we do know is that the day before Leicester's press and practice his father informed the club that he wasn't ready to ride Speedway. I think the clubs he was contracted to ride for, and their fans, deserve some kind of explanation, even if it's just a "personal reasons" statement and in Bewick's case some kind of acknowledgement of the events at Leicester... it's not too much to ask from a professional sportsman and or club.

Speedway is definately not the place to work, if you have mental health problems, the Promoters are as much to blame, they know the riders with problems, weather they are mental, drug or alcahol related, should a rider be issued a licence if he has mental health problems?

Don't be saying that, you will have people trying to tear into you for it. Even though your bang on the money.

Again, people shouting their mouths off with no understanding of what 'mental health problems' either means or entails.

"Should a rider be issued a licence if he has mental health problems?"

Did you know that if someone has OCD, that is classified as a mental health problem?! So if somebody has to continually wash their hands, or has to count a number of times before carrying out a daily task, or has to check they have unplugged the iron five times before leaving the house, they cannot ride speedway?! Don't be so ridiculous. Next, you'll be asking for a table of classification as to what permits you to ride and what doesn't. There are too many people who think the term 'mental health issues' means 'nutter' and that anyone suffering from it is incapable of living a normal life.

And for the other person on here who believes that Craig's problem is alcoholism, and that he is using the excuse of mental health issues to cover it...firstly, you know NOTHING at present. But let's humour you...if someone does have an issue with alcohol, you do realise that may be BECAUSE of their mental health problems?! Up to 75% of PTSD sufferers turn to alcohol. But I suppose they are all using mental health as an excuse too are they?!
