There used to be a rule regarding ‘seniority’ where the older club got priority on a fixture night class but Glasgow blew it out of the water when they went back to Fridays ( 2018 ? ) . Redcar had Fridays as their fall back night so should have had ‘seniority’ over Glasgow but now it’s who shouts the loudest and you can guess who wins that…..Scunthorpe? Glasgow ?
You think Redcars crowd doesn't suffer on an off night ?

With 1h and 1a next season again off nights are less of an issue.

But lots of assumptions in your post

Do Redcars crowd suffer ? I don’t know do you ?.

is shouting the loudest and guessing who wins your opinion or is it based on information you have that this is fact ?.

Nothing wrong with your opinion but don’t make out it’s Scunthorpe or Glasgows fault with nothing to suggest it is , other than personal opinion.

Gavin Parr said on a podcast this week that Redcar couldn’t do 2H & 2A. Main reason is that Redcar are 1 of 4 Friday night teams & this would mean Redcar had to have 7 off day home fixtures to make it work. 🤷‍♂️

Would teams need to race on an alternate race day though?

16 home matches, 6 away Fridays (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Scunthorpe) is 22 Fridays. There's 27 Fridays between April & September. Race play-offs in October (no koc). Still leaves 4 spare Fridays for rain-offs (one used for best pairs).

Worst case scenario would have to race an occasional alternate race day?

What assumptions?

yes they do, the turnstiles figures dont lie.

Our club promoter told those assembled at the club social, after the AGM,  exactly who shouted what and how come they were allowed to run on a Friday despite the clash and protests with their local rivals, and also how Workington were told they couldnt run on a Friday, because Scunthorpe were !

If you think every club is equal around that top table then you need to give your head a shake, there have been loads of instances of ‘favouritism’ over the years and even the Premiership play offs this season with the rule book being ignored when it suits.

Whilst the top table is run by club owners then it will never be run ‘for the good of the sport’.

The assumption being your promoter told you , from that respect you are only hearing that side of things so you are assuming that is true.

Also from memory we raced Redcar not so long ago on a Saturday afternoon and our crowd was way down must have been a real lose leader but I suppose you forgot about that.

Apologies as this is a Berwick thread I will leave it at that.

The worst example was in 2018 when Lakeside regularly had matches cancelled by the Management Committee as they were bottom of the pecking order and if they had raced scheduled Fixtures a certain Promoter could not get a Guest who had broken his leg very early in the season.

If the Cook rumour is true?

Would be a strong top end & always have a decent reserve.

I know Hodder is rumoured to be at Glasgow, but I'd like to think he'd be loyal to Berwick if they wanted him back?

Craig Cook 8.42
Rory Schlein 8.08
Drew Kemp 6.46
Jye Etheridge 4.98
Danyon Hume 4.87
Bastien Borke 4.84
Freddie Hodder 2.00
Total 39.65

Lol.

So today Craig Cook is supposed to be riding for Berwick, Redcar and Plymouth 😂

Well he does have a split personality...he could have a happy club, a middling club and an angry club...he could even ride for one and Guest for the other two at Plymouth

Not a Cook fan , but given the lack of Heat Leader options (unless a good newcomer) probably worth a punt.Still a very good rider when temperament is right. We will have Jye to back him up no doubt.

He was predominantly a very good gater so if he does sign and he gets the bike set up to get out the gate he could prove potentially formidable at home. As you say though, if Etheridge is included in any Berwick side you can just immediately write off another season because regardless of average he's garbage. As the saying goes; 'anyone can make a mistake but only an idiot makes the same mistake time and time again'.

One of the PL's best his stats from 2012 onwards are almost impeccable. Sadly for me he isn't the 'force' he was but as Emilali correctly says if he gets out the traps, he will score well and ultimately hold up the top end.
