Plymouth v Glasgow

Tigers’ team for this fixture is awful. We only have three of our regulars: Bomber, Pearson, Smith.

Leon and Matic are riding on the continent, and the other two are out. Not sure who is replacing them.

Why has it not been postponed then, Chapman calls off Kings Lynn fixtures when a couple of riders are missing, this week apparently through mutual concent. Why is this any different?

Chapman calls off home fixtures because it might hurt his crowd, probably less bothered about away meetings. If Plymouth wants to race, don't see how Glasgow can call it off, especially as it's Plymouth's "normal" race night.

4 guests for glasgow is that a joke ?

2 are injured and 2 on international duty, but I think that it should have been rearranged, although the guests make us stronger

How is it in the day of the match it's not known if Plymouth are using a guest or r/r? Do teams not have to declare their side 3 days early?

Looks unprofessional when the Speedway GB website & Plymouth's own FB page don't know the line-up for tonight.

The sport is not run in a Professional manner these days.

To be fair to them, they dont even pretend it is...

"Any Speedway" is ok in their view...

And the few hundred who still attend each track obviously agree with them..

Genuinely can't understand this tactic of only giving Pearson 1 ride in first 7 heats then have him in virtually every heat thereafter. Fine at home but away tracks going to change from heat 2 to heat 8. Imo should've been in heat 4 and Scott taken Smith's 3rd or 4th ride.

Horley is a total joke

She has done her best to ruin which was an entertaining meeting.

She makes Scottish football refs look half competent.

We threw away too many points and were woeful at reserve. The ref was poor. We needed everything to go right tonight to have a chance of winning. With our normal 1 - 7 we wouldn't have done any better, Ivacic would've been lucky to make it back out of the second bend. Cami looked a man under pressure, perhaps he suspects what we are all beginning to think.

Or was it woman of the match either way she was horrific.

Nothing Plymouth could do they rode well, both teams rode well but was ruined by an ego maniac.

Well done Plymouth.

Looking at the updates, the result would almost certainly have been the same if the controversial decisions were called the other way.

Heat 5: Baek excluded instead of Smith 4-2 to Glasgow, meeting now tied 15-15.

So after heat 11 the score would now be 35-31

Heat 12, no tac sub allowed, so 3-3 (Pearson 4th instead of Harris 1st) score is 38-34.

Heat 14: Baek excluded for not being under power when Jenkins falls, 3-0 to Plymouth. Score is now 43-38.

Final score 48-39 instead of 49-40.

Glasgow cam blame the ref for being poor, but not for costing them the match.

Baek ran into Jenkins which caused him to leave the track then lift because he was on the grass, then taking out Thompson.

Unbelievable that the ref watched replays and came to the conclusion that Jenkins caused Baek to fall. Also I thought the ref was only able to use video evidence if it was BSN or Eurosport.

How does she watch a replay and decide Jack was at fault in heat 5?

Re tac sub give that they passed up the opportunity to use a t/s in heat 10 do you not think they would have told Jack don't get a heat advantage in heat 11.

The fact that Glasgow only scored 2 points from reserve irrespective of the refs performance was the reason they lost the meeting.

I'd like to think a team manager would never tell a rider to lose on purpose to gain a tac sub, but you never know.

If the ref saw heat 14 the way you did, final score would've been 48-41 or 47-42.

Like you suggest, Glasgow just not good enough on the day from the bottom 2 (or 3).

Re the Baek incident in heat 14, this was right in front of us and I had a perfect view. Jenkins 100% took Baek’s leg out as he dive bombed into turn 3, so it was definitely the right decision.

Jenkins then lost control, partly as a result of that clash, and had to put the bike down, unfortunately in front of Joe who could do nothing but run over him.

It looked horrendous from up close and whatever the result, I was just glad to see them all walk off the track.

The Smith exclusion around heat 4-5 however was very harsh on Glasgow! First/second bend and little (if any) contact!
