andout
I am in total shock. A few months ago Tony mailed to me here in Canada a bunch of SGP passes and information. Last year at Cardiff he gave me an "Officials" pass to do whatever I wanted to do. He was so kind to me. Actually had an email ready to send him to ask a question on a rule! RIP Tony. 1
Steve Shovlar
Terribly sad news. Not old at all. Rest in peace and commiserations to his family and friends.
Wild Man Vic
So very sad to hear this news. A really nice bloke - he was always happy to chat and talk about speedway. I never heard anyone have a bad word to say about him. A great referee who seemed to have the respect of riders, team managers and promoters too - which is a very rare thing in our sport. And, from what I have read, he was involved in so many behind the scenes aspects of speedway in the UK and at FIM level, which will be a big miss with his knowledge and experience too. But, especially to all of his family and friends he will be greatly missed and I send my condolences to them at this very sad time. RIP Tony
bigcatdiary
Probably one of the most liked and respected officials in the sport and he will be sadly missed by everyone. Well liked by everyone including riders, officials, promoters and supporters.

Byker Biker
Despite so many of us knowing Tony the Coroners Office has today put out a public request for information to help them trace relatives. The Leicester Mercury has the full details and contact information for anyone who may be able to help. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/local-news/coroner-steps-up-hunt-find-9471654?utm_source=mynewsassistant.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=embedded_search_item_desktop
Byker Biker
The object of my post was to alert those who knew him well and could possibly offer help not to arouse speculation, it would be helpful and preserve dignity if Technik's post and refernces could be removed please. 2
