People that are blaming the track preparation / track design - when was the last bad crash at Sheffield? This isn’t a weekly or monthly occurrence, can’t remember the last bad looking crash at Sheffield

People are talking about this particular meeting though, not historically. And the fact remains that leaving a huge pile up of dirt on the outside was dangerous, and poor from the Sheffield track staff.

Watch Emil on lap 3 he went for the same on lap 4, he clipped the fence before going into the bend and was carrying loads of speed he looked like he just lost it to me.. you are one of these who love to slag Sheffield off in any way so fill your boots Arch

Im just catching up on the latest news and having watched the video clip have to say Emil was very lucky to come out of that incident as he did, he is an absolute class act on and off the bike and i wish him a speedy recovery and hope hes back for the play offs. Im not a Jack Holder fan but he certainly was not to blame for the incident, as for comments relating to the track and Holders behaviour after the event im not qualified to comment as i did not watch the meeting, the main thing in all this is Emil is ok and hopefully back in action asap.

I think that the Sheffield track man should get  another pair of eyes to give some impartial advice on what to do with the track as in its current state of a lot of powdery material it’s a) it’s becoming dangerous when it gets piled up high virtually stopping riders in their tracks on more than one occasion and b) it makes the track ‘gate and go’ or ‘follow the leader’ as riders using the only line up high.  Maybe someone like Meredith from Belle Vue or even Phil Morris coming in giving his view having been involved in track prep in the world stage.

It does not take much to seek four or six volunteers to act as rakers even if you have to let them in for free, rider safety is paramount, so I am not sure what the issue is with finding some willing hands to help out. It never use to be a problem but perhaps health and safety has reared its head. No matter, Emil and Chris live to fight another day and between them are probably two of the best entertainers on the British track scene giving it everything to win and entertain us mere mortals in the stands.

The problem is most track staff aren’t allowed to ‘rake’.

i got told off for doing it at Birmingham.

unlike the old days raking rarely happens.

Told off by whom? They used to rake at PB quite recently, though I noticed that there were no rakers for the televised match.

By the track curators and management .

im delighted if they are encouraging it tho these days as its the best way to get the deep stuff out the fence.
