Redcar Bears v Workington Comets 2nd August 2024

Recommended Posts

Just had a call from a Comets fan who is at  Redcar right now.  He says there is no sign of Craig Cook !!

But Dale Wood (Edinburgh NDL Rider ?) is there. Someone on here has said its because  he is our assigned No8.

Wonderful !

Sometimes there are more important things in life than work and sport. Can only imagine that his partner and the birth of his child takes priority.

It's unfortunate that Craig's not there but maybe the baby's a bit closer to arriving than he thought!

Oh god forbid riders having families outside the sport. Idiot.

Attack the post not the poster.

50-40 is a great result considering Cook and Vissing were missing. Batch superb and Jenkins an excellent guest.

Probably JJ best score of the season, maybe should’ve stayed at Redcar lol.

Well done to Redcar on the win however I’ll take our 10 point defeat all considered!

Some very close racing tonight with the dirt like right on the air fence towards the end of the meeting making for brave moves. Jenkins certainly done his job as a guest and Ace although wasn’t in the big points wasn’t disgraced even against that level of opposition.

Man of the meeting was Troy Batchelor he’s been superb for us all year and tonight he rolled back the years looked great on the bike.

My only criticism of Redcar wasn’t the meeting itself it’s a few of their supporters who stand on the home straight stand who now always seem to have  a little cry and a sulk (happened on our last few visits now) because we put our Comets flag/banners up, relax we pay to get in and spend money on food bar etc if your that offended cheer louder…

We took a beating by Poole who made plenty of noise and had flags etc up it’s nothing to get upset about personally I like to see away support when track visit Workington adds to the atmosphere. So next time don’t get so uptight I can guarantee everyone who stood there is friendly and up for a crack .

Well done on your win, here’s to tomorrow!
