Tom has done magnificently but I am just a little bit concerned that he may have a bit of burn out come the business end of the season. Hope not but its happened before.

I can only comment on his Glasgow form last year, but he increased his average early and then held on to that average until the end of the season. The issue was that we didn’t see the step we expected him to take, but he’s done that this year. He’s gating better, riding tracks better… he’s riding like he’s not under pressure.

My personal opinion is that his biggest issue last year was we made him captain and piled too much pressure on him. I also think subconsciously, being in a team with Basso (they share the same birthday) may have contributed, and it possibly didn’t help that Ben’s style made him so adored. You’d never expect a rider to say any of this lest it be seen as a sign of weakness, but I honestly think those things contributed to us not seeing his full potential last year. But I wouldn’t say he faded - it was more a gap between expectation and realisation, which he’s honestly sent a bulldozer through this season.

This has to be countered with Sam Hagon going the other way and struggling to find points, after they came easy earlier this season.

since joining Leicester?

Probably. He is now looking like a very novice reserve for Poole. Next to useless in his first race but not charging around the outside like he did earlier this season. Tailed off at times. Foord now looking the more reliable reserve. Considering Foord was brought in to pickup the odd point, it’s now gone completely the other way. Hopefully Sam will capture the form that won him the U21 title.

Certainly didn't seem anything wrong with his machinery the way it was going after the meeting with Tom Brennan testing it out!!  As I've said before I don't think he's 100% fit (who is?) after his recent crash at Poole with ribs and shoulder  taking the brunt!

I'll see how Sam gets on on Sunday at Leicester along with Vinnie :t:

The reason I’m not on anymore is @lewy sending private messages about dead relatives, I think the jokes gone too far now.

I thought you was on holiday
