Shaleshifter
After two brilliant performances away at Glasgow and Workington at the weekend it's destination Wimborne Road this Wednesday when the Glasgow Tigers come to town. Not sure who the Tigers are using as a guest for Stevie Worrall but it should be an entertaining meeting with a certain mr Harris in action. Expecting a comfortable home win but you can't take anything for granted. Thoughts?

Bomber is not fully fit with his knee injury which he hurt again in another crash yesterday doing grasstrack/longtrack. He then goes straight to Sweden for 2 meetings before Poole on Wednesday. Whispers that Drew Kemp is guesting for Worrall. Possibly r/r or Danyon Hume for Tobias. Edited July 29 by Skidder1

Despite that, no doubt it will be Poole's biggest crowd of the year as they are from a PR point of view taking on last years champions. K7KDD
Pirates fans were treated to seeing some real speedway on a real speedway track on Friday..............must have been a novel experience for them, how excited they all were to see bikes passing each other. I'd bet there was more passing and racing in one heat last Friday than we'll see in the entire meeting on Wednesday. Going back to Winboring Road must be tough, really tough..............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I would be more tempted to use Batch who got 13 riding at 5 when Worky came down or Danny King? Although Drew has done well. And also r/r at home should be ok imo. 42 minutes ago, K7KDD said: Pirates fans were treated to seeing some real speedway on a real speedway track on Friday..............must have been a novel experience for them, how excited they all were to see bikes passing each other. Jaizer
Pumped. Simple as that. Might get 30 with JP at reserve but he touch and go
MD
I reckon we should pay out the win bonus at 32.
LisaColette
All the riders that have scored double figures at Poole, Glasgow could have got like Batch (13) and Kemp (12) and they get Barker (6) according to preview on Poole website. By Tobi's name it says stf whatever that means?! https://www.poole-speedway.com/news/view/20240729-preview-pirates-welcome-defending-champions-glasgow Edited July 29 by lisa-colette

As for Barker let's hope he uses the same 'lawn mower' engine as the weekend!! Edited July 29 by Skidder1
szkocjasid
While Barker doesn't seem a great guest, Glasgow wouldn't get anything out of this match whoever they got, so he won't cost them. Tbh i'd have gone with r/r give my own riders more track time.
Steve Shovlar
Looking at the teams a rout is likely. How Glasgows team building efforts have fallen from last season. Instead of bringing in the likes of Tarasenko, which showed the rule book not fit for purpose and gifted Glasgow the title, this time around they bring in Ivacic. Perhaps they thought lightening would strike twice. Ivacic is a poor signing. The declared team at the start was poor. If Kemp is available they have missed an opportunity to keep it reasonable. The lad is showing proper improvement. Barker has passed his sell buy date looking at his form this season. You never know though and predictions before a meeting can lead to egg on face. Harris will battle. Pearson at reserve might pick up a scalp or two. Flint has scored well in the past but his form currently is off the boil. Garrad shouldn’t trouble the scorers. Ivacic hadn’t seen the place. Smith has never done anything of note. Expecting 60-30. If Glasgow do better than that it will be a surprise. If Glasgow get 30, I will be surprised, we are woeful, would have been better before the changes, losing Stevie has been a massive disadvantage, Ivacic is not even fit for reserve spot and Leon is very inconsistent, thank goodness for Harris and to some extent Pearson, Jack Smith has also given us entertainment at home, not so much away. When I saw the initial team, I thought it was poor, can't believe we have actually made it worse, roll on 2025, hopefully with an improvement. Our biggest loss was not having Basso, he was formidable at Ashfield alongside Bomber. At least we still have him to watch going round the boards so to speak.

How about you accept you were beaten by the better team, take it like a man and move on? The rule book didn't 'gift' Glasgow the title, they still had to go out on the track and win it....and that's exactly what they did. The title was won thanks to an excellent signing and some excellent riding. Edited July 30 by Bojangles
SteveLyric2
Still no confirmation that Thomsen has fully recovered from his ankle injury last week, and no official news of a guest standing by (although lots of rumours) so I guess it could be r/r at 2. If its r/r that'll mean Tobias gets another week of recovery before coming back at reserve v Scunny on 7th!
