Middlesbrough vs Oxford - 26th July

Recommended Posts

Looking bleak for Oxford's title chances, but a must-win for the Chargers to keep any slim hopes alive.

William Cairns could well be the trump card, especially with Jody Scott, Ashton Vale and Jason Garrad all unavailable.

Middlesbrough: Jake Mulford, Kai Ward, Danny Phillips, Jamie Halder, Ben Trigger, Ben Rathbone, William Hocaniuk.

Oxford: Luke Killeen, Alex Spooner, Matt Marson, William Cairns, Max Perry, Jacob Clouting, Senna Summers.

A few Oxford fans on FB, didn't rate their chances, but as soon as I saw Cairns was riding, put them down for a 2 points away win!

And he certainly didn't disappoint again. What a talent! Championship clubs will be throwing the cheque book at him come the end of June next year.

Honestly think he's the best rider at that age since Woffinden!

Again a few riders just not good enough, halder isn't to be relied on for a good points haul ever.

What a strange post

It is a development league for enhancement by having more track time and learning.

If you get to the tapes on two minutes, maybe you can do a better job.

Constructive criticism is always welcome by riders, why not try it?

Halder is a 5 point second string, why would he be relied on for a good points haul?

That's the job of Mulford & Trigger at the top of the team.

Halder is what he is, a 3.5 - 5 point rider depending on team position. He has been unlucky with injuries at times and have never taken his fitness seriously but in  a sport that struggles to tke itself seriously why should he. 5 home and 5 away fixtures is barely enough to keep an amateur interested and would certainly be a hard push to convince anyone to buy equipment and take up the sport.

Once the likes of Halder and co do decide its not worth the effort anymore there won't be riders to fill team places as Vatchers youth rounds over the weekend aren't full of emerging talents ready to take the places.

Because you need to engage your brain cell before typing perhaps ?

The sport has always had its ‘ back up ‘ riders who were never going to be world beaters but are the backbone of the sport and are essential back up to the ‘ stars ‘. Halder has scored in every meeting and is as solid a second string as you will find in the NDL.

It's a development league...

Not many outside of the followers of the sport will be able to name 3 speedway teams of any level, let alone who the "Champions" are..

The majority of NDL lads will never make a living out of the sport so either ride as a "hobby" or ride in the hope that maybe one day they will get to pro level...

If they are not there, then there isn't any racing to watch...
