King’s Lynn vs Sheffield - 29.07.24

Recommended Posts

Becker and Lawson guest on Monday.

Assume this will be the 1-7’s:

Stars

1. Becker

2. Basso R/R

3. Lawson

4. Iversen

5. Kvech

6. Wojdylo

7. Rowe

Tigers

1. J Holder

2. Howarth

3. C Holder

4. Pickering

5. Guest (Fricke, Tungate, Janowski, Harris)

6. Edwards

7. Gilkes

This will be even tougher than the Ipswich meeting last night. Would love to see a repeat of the 50-40 cup win, but just can’t see it.

Better guests, but against a better team so would expect a similar result as last night.

I think it may be very dependent on who Sheffield manage to get in for Woffy.

For his standard J Holder had a stinker last time and C Holder can be hit or miss.

Hopefully we can a win…

Becker - 6(4)

Lawson - 10(6)

Kvech - 10(6)

Iversen - 8(5)

Wojdylo - 7(5)

Rowe - 5(4)

Emil and Jack similar

Ellis better than Howarth

Chris will do well to match what King did

Pickering better than Dan T

Ipswich reserves better

R/R got 10 for Ipswich would a guest do better?

I don’t think Sheffield are a better side than Ipswich though not much in it

I can see Sheffield running R/R again for this one which will be a massive mistake, as can’t rely on Pickering and Howarth to cover the points Woffinden should have got, know it’s all hypothetical and Woffinden pulled up no trees on last visit to King’s Lynn.  If they do go R/R then home win 50-40, if Sheffield get a decent guest (Fricke, Harris as can’t see Janowski who’d be first choice flying over for a guest visit) then could see Sheffield sneaking it 44-46

I'm going Monday, and already looking forward to it, King's Lynn certainly have a very good chance, yes Sheffield are strong, it's only opinions on they are better than Ipswich, and for me, they are not, but we will see what happens in September to solve that argument.

But this meeting could be close, Lawson is full of confidence and for me is better round Lynn than both Holder's and on last night i would take Iversen over Pickering all day long. Lynn are much stronger at reserve as well, so this should be good.

Looking forward to my Speedway fix at Lynn on Monday night.

Sheffield are guaranteed a top 4 spot, so I wouldn't say it would be a massive mistake to use r/r even if they lose.

If Pickering & Howarth have poor days, which certainly can happen then Lynn could win. If there's a strong guest available I'd expect Sheffield to use him.

If Sheffield use R/R for Woffi then I can see us winning by a few… if they get someone like Fricke or Janowski then I can see them winning by a few

Would have preferred Lynn to have got Janowski at no1 for the Stars to be honest on his last showing.

Does he fit?

As Tel said yep. For a home meeting we have  these points available for guests, Ben 7.07, NK 6.92, Toby 6.16?.

You potentially have Magic 6.04, Lawson 6.53, Harris 6.33,Masters 6.47, Becker 5.93, Ellis 6.07, Wright 6.27, and dare i say Rew after his display on Thursday.

Magic and Lawson would be my ideal picks. But a few to hopefully choose from.

How sure are you on Becker? He's averaged  just 5.47 this season, and  only 4.00 away from Leicester so far this season.. Surely someone better is available?

Lets hope so. That is the trouble with second strings. They are capable of  scoring 3 or 9 :t:
