Oxford v Aces

Is the track record faster than the Hans Nielsen record that no-one got close to for years?  Or is that null & void as the track is different?

Yeah, the track is different. It’s wider….so technically there’s a shorter way around now. Not that anybody has got close to Nielsen’s old record still.

Don't know who is moaning about the track? It can't be that bad when there is a new track record in heat 4.

Because it was Chris Harris riding it like a grass track it’s so rough.

It's too grippy, some of the riders are struggling to turn the bikes.

Thought so, thanks.

There are no bumps on the track and now a second track record from  Dan B.

It’s settling down now, at least riders can slide it into bends now

The track is fine now, once every rider has been out on it once I would hope the coasting into corners is no more.  Lidsey & Kemp are going for it now and certainly weren't in their first ride.

Fairly abject performance from the Aces, aggregate situation on Monday should be interesting at least.

Cant believe the   state of that track you could see it was overwatered and two deep for riders to turn the bikes.  The referee should have not passed it fit to ride, and the track staff did a bad job of preparing. I know its been a warm day but to much water spoiled the track, good crowd expecting good racing must have been naffed off with all the tractor racing.  One way to lose fans and any newbies

Having been in the stadium since 5:30 Jamie Courtney (Promoter and track man) had been working on the track the whole time. If he watered to much it would be wrong no water at all and it would be a dust bowl that would have been wrong. I notice it hasn’t been mentioned that before heat 15 Jamie got on the mic to apologise for the issues with the track - how many do that?

It was obvious that there were two Belle Vue riders who didn’t want to race the track, to have two new track records set in the same (one Oxford and one Belle Vue) meeting on such a dangerous and unridable track. Also if it was so bad why was it signed off as fit by the SCB ref in the first place?

Most riders should be able to attack a track should it be grippy or smooth, but this generation seem to expect a nice smooth car park to ride on. Do you think this happens in other countries the complainants would have been told to take a walk.

it is easier to attack a track thats inconsistent when in front, cook and lidsey both buggerd off when in front. thats why you had mostly riders spread out during the racing. when riders dont have confidence in the conditions thats what will happen.

How did you guess.  There seem to be a certain group of this crop.of Aussies who like to whinge.  Rohan didn't seem to have any problems with it.  I'm sure Lemo rode far worse tracks in his time.

Mind you Rohan wasn’t very keen at the Ipswich abandonment at Oxford.
