TTT Posted July 18 Report Share Posted July 18 Huge opportunity for the Witches tonight to pick up another away win. Fricke and Lawson One Two punch is all Leicester have to offer on paper. Masters scoring has been erratic this season, Becker's been poor, Cook isn't the rider he once was and Hagon was in some discomfort last night so he'll be feeling the effects. A few dangerous moves from Lawson, cook and Fricke this evening that probably crossed the line of hard/fair racing. A few times Lucky there wasn’t a nasty incident. When riders are prepared to attack the track we get decent races at BP. Hats off to Rew tonight because he was prepared to have a right old go. He is a long way off the finished article but clearly isn’t taken in by all the negative crap regarding the Lions track. The top riders and those who are destined to go to the top will see BP as a challenge and be mindful that the very best are able to handle the so called technical tracks. cowboy cookie returns? Posted July 19 Report Share Posted July 19 I’m not too concerned about the result, our home form will hopefully see us remain unbeaten at Foxhall & we go really well at Oxford. It was always going to a tough with out the Leicester track specialist Dan. In terms of of the track Leicester is like Foxhall consistently slated by away fans & some riders however those with true riding ability like Emil seem to have no issues. The only concern I have going forward is not replacing Doyle as that will scupper us in the play offs & the KO cup final. Nicholls is an Ipswich legend & in many ways it feels like he has come home this year…..almost a full time witch. However as good as he is at Foxhall to win the league we need a much stronger rider at Sheffield & Belle Vue as it’s clear we will need to beat at least one of those in the playoffs to take the title. Hawkins said at Belle Vue that everyone got their bad race out the way at the same time, last night was another one for three of the guys. Feels like Belle Vue, Oxford and Leicester have all been extremely hard meetings recently and Emil is really holding it together, granted we’ve been on the road. But I have a feeling Sheffield are in prime position for the double this season and now we are seeing the affects of missing Doyley! I hope I’m wrong! Also, it’s a massive shame our home meeting at Belle Vue got cancelled for “rain” as it could have been a home win and got the riders better prepared for last night.
