Bojangles
Good to see Alex Spooner back, Oxford should definitely be stronger with him in the side. Can only see a comfortable Chargers win. Looking forward to seeing Stene Pijper as well.
Chairboy
Note to anyone attending - Oxford have stated that the Unipart car park is unavailable for this meeting. (No explanation as to why, or whether it will be available for future meetings.) They say some parking will be available at the stadium itself. I think you mean ‘quit’ ? If you do….he’s quit again ? Because he was dropped for Cairns ? Or because of off track issues ? Lad has a bit of talent but appears to ‘retire’ regularly for some reason.

Reality for Sheldon is likely he can't afford to race, shame as he showed alot of potential at scunny the other week. Good win for the lads, congrats to them and hopefully the withdrawn riders have a safe and speedy recovery
Debbi
Fair play to Will Cairn he was absolutely flying tonight. For Oxford I hope the injuries are not to bad for Jody and Ashton, and that Jason and Jacob get assessed as they were involved in nasty falls as well and will probably black and blue tomorrow and in a lot of pain. Islander15
Cairns really is as impressive as this level as we all thought he would be then. I wonder what his plan is. Only race 3 meetings this season to keep his 3.00 average for next season? Or mop up as many guest bookings as he can this season and move towards the Championship next season? Hilly
With the way the NDL is set up at present, not sure Cairns will learn much from the handful of meetings it would offer. Looked in complete control of the bike at all times, impressive stuff with other riders having trouble on occasions. Though depends when he turns 16 no doubt. Obviously will have the pick of all the teams in the Championship next season. Edited July 14 by Hilly

szkocjasid
There's no major reason for Cairns to stick to 3 matches to keep a 3.00 average for next season imo. Even if he signs for a club & gains a new average doesn't mean it'll hurt him the following season, both Jody Scott & Ashton Boughen got new averages but still found clubs wanting to sign them in their first full season. Probably will have the pick of any club if he's a 3.00 rider next year, but I'm sure some clubs would still take him on as a heat leader too. Fozzie4388
He'll clearly sign for Leicester when he's ready for the top flight in a couple years with his Dad been one of the Promotion
BackInTheDHSS
William Cairns was very impressive. Only slight caveat is that he didn't have much opposition to beat - Jody Scott never completed a race and Jason Garrad was clearly still feeling his way back after injury. For some context, he was well beaten by Luke Killeen the two times they met, so don't want to get too carried away. But hey, Killeen is arguably one of the best riders in this league and averages over 4.50 in the league above. This was also Cairns' first competitive 500cc meeting, so is only going to get better and better. Going to be a great signing for someone at this level, and I'm sure will do a good job when he steps up to the Championship next year. They'll be plenty of teams fighting over him - reminds me of the Boughen situation a year ago. Edited July 15 by BackInTheDHSS
