Speedtiger
The whole situation at KL is a total fiasco, I make no secret of the fact that’s I consider Chapman to be a complete clown and a con man who’s taking the loyal KL fans for fools and making speedway look even more rubbish than it is. When he were at the BSPA he was also a disaster making ridiculous decisions and running the sport into the ground. Hes a clueless buffoon and should be chucked out by the authorities but I doubt this will happen. I feel really sorry for the KL fans as they deserve better. So you feel sorry for the King's Lynn fans, but want Buster chucked out.So where does that leave King's Lynn Speedway with no Buster. No Speedway imo,so not really feeling sorry for the Lynn fans.
Arch Stanton
37 minutes ago, Daniel Smith said: Correct, King's Lynn wouldn't exist. The club has become an embarrassment to the league. At the same time, every club & those responsible for the BSPL have to take some of the responsibility. This country is not in a fit state to run a top division with GP riders at a competitive level. Sheffield & Ipswich are only able because of Guy Nicholls of TruPlant. These 2 clubs ain't necessarily run well, just well financed and are actually suffocating British Speedway. There should be 1 big league. Guy Nicholls pays less per season than Sackers recycling did before him. Despite popular belief, once he’s paid his sponsorship money at the start of the season, that’s his involvement over. He doesn’t get involved in team matters and doesn’t put “extra” money in to sign GP riders. Chris Louis does that. Ipswich also have some very loyal and very good partner sponsors at the club. Possibly, if Chapman remained the owner of the stadium but sold the speedway license but Allitt definitely needs to go as the club will never improve or progress with him there. I'm pretty sure the stadium will stay in Busters ownership. Taking rent for bangers and drift cars ect is relatively easy, compared to running and paying for a speedway team. It would need minimal work from Buster himself. As for Speedway.. Well a good friend of mine ( and i believe him 100%) was talking to a current rider after the Lynn v Oxford meeting last month, about him returning next season. His reply was.. If no one takes over, there will be no speedway next season. So unless theres something going on behind the scenes, that said rider don't know about, or he was telling porky's, it's not looking good at the moment. Theres still time though. I don’t know why he didn’t continue but at Ipswich he is certainly very valued and not took for granted. The question should be why can’t you retain your main sponsors ? The Chris Holder fiasco I'd imagine.

That is true, buster wants nothing to do with speedway anymore, however he is totally unrealistic with his valuations of things, I’m sure he will charge extortionate rent and then there is buying the license off him etc …the panthers consortium know how hard that is, apparently he wanted to charge them way more than what the bspa said it was worth?

It's looking like all us loyal Stars fans can hope for is that Buster has a soft spot for King's Lynn, and after so many years in charge he does his best to let someone keep the sport going in the town for a sensible price. Yes I do feel sorry for KL fans as they deserve better than village idiot Chapman….Chapman is the problem, he’s been taking the fans money over years and now times are a bit tough it’s him who will inevitably close KL speedway…nothing more certain. KL is in a big mess and will be bankrupt if it’s not already. Edited July 16 by Speedtiger

old bob at herne bay
How different it was in my day. Made the journey up to Saddlebow Road to support the West Ham Hammers. Arrived at teh track and it was wet - they had a downpour probably an hour before start time. There were riders huddling in the pits and I thought I had made a wasted journey. Then the announcer came on and said Olle Nygren the West Ham captain had agreed to test the track. Well Olle by Golly didnt spare the horses going from a practice start full chat into the pits bend which looked sodden wet. The dirt flew and Olle flew round for a couple of laps inside and outside. The bikes warmed up and we wer treated to a pretty decent nights racing. Today the promoters call it off based on a " dodgy forecast" , a damaged pits gate hinge, a clash with a football match ....... no wonder they get so few visiting fans attending. Even the home supporters are losing interest.

Don’t tell me, the home team wore light grey and dark grey helmet colours and the away team wore white and black/white quarters!
old bob at herne bay
LOL ..... not quite terromafan....... red, blue, white and yellow/black quarters at that time. Kings Lynn were the "Stars", yellow race jackets with a big green star . Pretty much all the riders were in black leathers ..... Olle had white boots :-)

Btw dick............ I can spell slang however I choose (maybe you can tell me which dictionary you used clever ***t). 1. What you're saying is not irony (look it up). 2. Correct, you can spell it how you want, it's your right. However, that doesn't detract from the fact you still spelt it wrong - and that is ironic considering the word in question. 3. No amount of claiming you can spell something however you want saves you from the misuse of an apostrophe. 4. The correct spelling of 'thicko' is in the Collins English Dictionary, the Cambridge Dictionary, etc., etc. etc. Edited July 22 by Bojangles
Teromaafan
….And now for something completely different. This fixture will now take place (at the fifth attempt) on 5th August. The Met Office has guaranteed that there will be some weather on this date, so probably best to postpone it now to avoid disrupting riders and spectators travelling plans. Seriously though, Lions still have to go to Lynn twice this season so why not just make it a double header….if and when it takes place?
