In all the 53 years I've been following B'ham, I can't remember the set-up being this damaging!

Tolley for his financial backing and Brennan for his performances this season, are the only two credible members of the Club.

Lose any of the others that are associated and they wouldn't be missed!

First move....get rid of Rogers and Sam....

Needs to happen before the next home match for B'ham to have any chance of surviving this season and beyond!

Birmingham had one chance this year, to beg pete adams to come and manage the side, a prolific manager, knows how to win meetings .

They didnt and have ended up with the same  mess theyve had the last 2-3 yrs, tolley. rogers and sam, what a treble that is .

So just out of interest you get rid of Rodgers and Sam, would you keep Chris Adams as Team Manager? Or do you have a complete break and bring in someone else?
They will survive the season the towel won’t be thrown in now.

Don't think Chris could do any worse? at least he could call on his old man for advice/guidance....

The damage has been done...but it's not too late to at least try and change things....but the changes need to be done at the 'foundations'...

A proper 'speedway' person is needed!

First things first....get in someone who 'INSISTS' that the track is prepared for racing....

As the Hobbit suggests....get rid of Pawliki/Lampart....sign a couple of riders who may not win all their heats, but will win the fans over with TOTAL commitment!

We had one of those riders in Zack Cook ! mindless decision to sack him!

Hobbit also suggests on another forum that the Team Manager's role be handed to a supporter of the Club?

'Said' supporter having years of speedway experience....'great idea' !

Tom’s put 0.6 on his average this season. He had a bad meeting guesting for Ipswich and an unfortunate crash tonight. Other than that, he’s been scoring well. Some people just expect too much.

Although he's a tough lad, expect it's beginning to affect him a bit on the mental side as well, having to carry the team on many occasions to date, when should be a No 3 or 4 really and the odd team decision of getting rid of his Poole team mate Cook.

You know as well as I do that Poole fans see things very differently from normal speedway fans …. To think a rider would have his best equipment for a lower paying league is just plain dumb……by all means he might prefer certain tracks to others but to think for one second he prioritises Poole is a joke

Oh gawd, Gav's polished up the broom stick!!!!

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Why on earth would he save his best engines for your beloved Poole rather than Birmingham? He couldn’t give a toss what position the clubs are in in their respective leagues. He’ll 100% be on more pounds per point for Birmingham than he will for Poole down in the Championship. As much as you’d love to think it, he’s not prioritising Poole over Birmingham.

Oh. My. God. It was a joke comment because of these comments ..

That wouldn't explain why his scores have dropped for Birmingham but not Poole

2+2=5 and all that. But good to see you two have a SoH!! lol

The riders are only part of the brum problem . The bigger issue is the wretched management , appalling team building behind the scenes and as bad a team manager as you'll get in any sport .

Even running out of excuses no as Ermolenko said the elements were against his side throughout.

The Brummies were always going to struggle this season. The team lacked any heat-leaders of note and needed the Polish riders to step up big time; both have been below par and despite Brennan being competitive the lack of a #1 and any support they were always going to be up against it from the off. Even bringing Freddie Lindgren in has not improved matters as all the riders are continuing to struggle for any consistency.

It is either the track, the weather, the wind was blowing in the wrong direction, we chose the wrong guest, our porridge for breakfast was the wrong flavour ... the excuses coming out of Birmingham are becoming more embarrassing by the week. How about the promotion picked a pretty ordinary team ... and then hyped them up as play-off contenders (not for the first time) when everyone and their dog could see that wasn't the case. That's not to say they should criticise the team ... but how about a modicum of realism now and then?

They were in a position where they had to put a team together when everyone else had started well ahead of them..

The averages given to their top two at the time were more to help them look competitive, and get decent guests, than actually reflect on their actual capability...

Getting Brum to the tapes at the start of the season was the major priority for all, and they were never going to say "this team is wooden spoon material" in press releases, even if most followers of the sport could clearly see they were..

Birmingham simply doesn't have enough people interested in Speedway enough to turn up each meeting, similar to a fair few other places...

Fair play to all involved for giving it a go and keeping it going...

This is part of the narrative being pushed by the club but the team was complete on Jan the 22nd and the announcement that they were "competing" in the PL was made on the 17th of November.

Most of the priority signings, ie the top two, are made the previous season...

Hence Brum would have been going to "top riders" still available, and either getting quoted significant sums due to the advantage the riders held, or getting told  "not interested, (but see how my season pans out)" by others...

How many would they get if "really successful"? 1100? or so?, hardly enough to bank roll an expensive rent and team..

Bottom line is...

Not enough people in Brum (as also in other locations), see Speedway as being worth the money for the racing served up, and/or worth the emotional investment you make for following a sporting team...

The promoter there must have money to burn, and fair play to him for taking on such a project with history so stacked against him..

All the whys , wherefores, excuses of poor team performances, crap signings, inept management/tactical knowledge etc etc etc....doesn't account for a 'poor' racing surface week after week....!!!

The one week that the track was prepped to a 'good/acceptable/raceable' standard, was V belle Vue ....the only win of the season..and that was with Milik in the team ??? :D

I attended the meeting and also as a BSN subscriber watched the coverage today - can anyone tell me what on earth Sam E was going on about in the pre-meeting interview? Also, why oh why are BSN now using female “presenters” to carry out rider/manager interviews? It’s bad enough having Abi Steven’s on Eurosport without this (and that’s coming from a female).
