Oxford v Ipswich 4th July

Recommended Posts

Oxford never win easy at Home but Ipswich are injury hit at the moment.

If Rew's state of mind is good then I fancy Ipswich to sneak it.

Nicholls guesting on his home track should score well

Ipswich will be hoping so but it brings a weird additional pressure for him.

Don't see why as Nicholls rides for Oxford in the championship and this is the premiership. What are Oxford going to do if he scores well, sack him;)

Doing well this year is Scott...

Kerching!!!

And his average doesn't move either does it?

He will be getting Premiership winners and runners up trophies at this rate.....:D

Not pressure from anyone but on himself because it will be doubly embarrassing if he doesn't score well if front of his home crowd (I'm sure many fans go to both Spires sand Cheetahs meetings).

The only trouble is we probably won't be able to use him in the play-offs as he will be working for Eurosport

Harris, Kerr, Cook, Kemp & Wright ride against Oxford in the Champ, while Masters & Jenkins ride against Oxford in the Prem, they should be used to it. If they can ride against their own team, so can Nicholls.

Be closer than monday for sure - Didn't Ipswich win there earlier in the season? -  can they repeat this quite possibly!

It must be quite strange being an Oxford supporter, cheering a rider one week in the premiership and booing the same rider the next in the championship.

Lewis Kerr got pretty much the biggest cheer of the night on Monday's parade. Why would one boo an opponent (unless they'd done something particularly dickish.)

Real chance for the Witches to bounce back with a win here... If Jenkins chips in with a few points, then could see this being a Witches win by 4-6 points...

Worded that wrong not necessary booing a rider but having him ride against you in a different league so you support him one week but not the next. Ex Ipswich riders always well respected on the parade. I know Oxford is a special case as they are riding in all 3 leagues. I wish I lived near Oxford as it's like back to the 80's having regular meetings  every week not like it is now. Ipswich have one home meeting in July.

This will come down to Rew's state of mind.

Got Ht 15 written all over it as it always does when the Spires ride at Home.

46 - 44 either way.

This is a new experience for Speedway fans, will happen often this season, not the booing part lol, but cheering a rider one week not the next.

Will only happen for Oxford though. Although some speedway fans will have been used to riders guesting for rivals & which could knock their own clubs out of competitions. Perhaps the Oxford situation is the lesser of two evils, Harris scoring well for Glasgow helps them make the play-offs over the Cheetahs, but doesn't hurt the Spires.
