Wobblywheel
I am a long - time Oxford supporter but I think the Sandy Lane raceway should be re - named "The Dustbowl". On the apex of bends one and two, I had a job to see through the dust cloud who won heat 1. Up to heat 6 and no real racing with some riders struggling to stay on. Such a shame because the action is normally superb.
SteelShoe
Not a great advert for speedway. No excuse for that track over the first half of the meeting. Bought the stream but wish I hadn't. Comets newbies to British Speedway appeared to have their confidence undermined by the early unpredictability of the track while the dust levels for an evening meeting were just unacceptable. Nearly made the journey so glad I didn't. Interesting that the longest grade and watering was after heat 12 which coincided with the interval. If this amount of water had been used earlier the dust level would have been much lower. I think the guy on the water truck was just emptying the water tanks at that stage. Comets reserves very poor all round tonight.

I'm not exactly a Roynan fan, or think he was a good replacement, but he's only trying to ride a speedway bike to make a living. And I'm sure he'll do a better job than me or any other poster on this forum. That would depend on how many ex riders are on here!!
lewy
Workington good top5 but the weakest reserve pairing in the league will be there undoing.

And then there was the dust.
H20
Reserves failed yet again for Workington changes have to be made, look at Poole doing well but ruthless when it comes to replacing riders. Comets rightly so stuck with the team in the NDL last year but this is different Sam has to be dropped he is riding terrible and looks the worst rider in the league. Junior riders coming in and beating him easily. Celina to not been good enough her 4pt average must have dropped alarmingly and won't go back up. If Workington had just one half decent reserve they were in for a shout this season but not with these two.
Grachan
A bit of a let down as a meeting. I arrived at the car park. The moment I got out of the car it was like opening the oven door to check on my roast potatoes, so I was sure then that it was going to be dry and dusty, and so it proved. From the opening heat, a lot of the riders looked more interested in preserving their own lives rather than racing for points - and who could blame them. The first time they came round bend 4 it looked like they were all going to hit the fence coming out of the bend. From then on a lot of riders clearly showed little effort once at the back. This carried on for many processional races, until about 3 or 4 to go where there was actually a few semi-decent races. It's a shame. I was looking forward to seeing Workington, and had told my son to watch out for Tate Zischke. "He's a star of the future," I said. "Watch him go" I said. "That means he'll be rubbish," he said. Oh, how he gloated at my rubbish speedway predictions. 2

I wouldn't call it an insult losing to Jody Scott on his home track who's 9+ NL average is higher than anything McGurk has achieved, before the match I wouldn't have been surprised of he didn't pick up any points. Not sure who you'd replace him with, as I'm sure Scott will have been promised a starting berth with Oxford next year, as long as he remains on a 2.00 average. Far easier to try & replace Celina, as they have 4.00 available.

AGREE with all these postsers . poor track . wont say the best team won . more like the team that had ridden ther more and were used to the track conditions . dont think i will ever buy a stream from Oxford again . i like how the promotion wasted 10 mins walking around beads 1/2/3/4 . with the riders NOT .. why do they light the B.B.Q. after every race ? it does jack all to the entertainment value . not the best value stream . has a long way to go to beat BSN .

Haha. I agree the track was rubbish (which is very unusual by the way), but to not say the best team won is hilarious. Cook saved you from getting an absolute spanking.
