Sir Sidney
Just now, IainB said: That's not 2 miles outside of Dudley borough though is it? I'm referring to Wolves not Cradley, and the comment from Wolfie456 about Peter Adams comments. The Heathen 52 comment which included the '2 miles outside Dudley' comment is in relation to a site for Cradley.

Maybe someone should start a crowd funding page for the junction 😂 Edited October 13, 2024 by IainB 1

The necessary Road improvements are 2 or 3 years down the line before they begin and judging by the Junction 10 Improvements will probably take another 2 or 3 years to complete so don't hold your breath. That's before any planning starts.
THE DEAN MACHINE
Anyone remember Wolverhampton speedway ? Feels like it’s disappeared off the face of the planet, no updates from the promotion, total official silence, the odd snippit from woffinden and adams but that’s 5years + away if it ever got off the ground, I think it’s safe to say it’s never coming back unless a new ambitious promoter can be found who really wants it and that isn’t the current promotion, feel like another Cradley situation is happening

Then they should say there is no land available and there is no chance of wolves returning and if anyone else wants to take up the challenge to find some land then go for it, as it is at the moment there are wolves fans who still think we are coming back sooner than later, plenty of gossip going round about various locations but it is just gossip because the promotion have been silent

Equally, if they did say "no land available" then there is not a lot of options open for anyone else to "have a go" as, "no land available " means "no land available". However, keep the faith as sometimes, where there is a will, there is a way, as per the eventual return of speedway to Leicester, even though it took 28 years for it to happen! The White Knight
I do hope somewhere can be found for Wolverhampton Speedway. I say this through gritted teeth as Wolves were partly responsible for the closing of my track, Sunderland 'Saints' back in 1964. I do, however, wish them the best of luck in this day and age. Speedway needs clubs like Coventry, Swindon and Wolverhampton.

They haven’t officially said anything, the j11 talk was woffinden and adams gossip at their talk in, no land available means the council haven’t got any land to give them free of charge, doesn’t mean there isn’t land available, it is my belief that the desire from the current promotion isn’t there anymore and not for the first time in speedway we have a case of it’s my ball and if I can’t play with it then nobody else can, whatever the situation it needs an official statement stating where we are not total silence

We found a great site in a gravel pit, a natural bowl which seemed ideal. Planning application turned down on road access, and not approved until a new large road junction was built. A few years down the line, the road junction was built, planning application turned down again! In the meantime they gave permission for a huge new retail park next to our proposed site with a big Sainsburys, The Range, Boots, Next and numerous other stores all exiting at the same junction which the planners said was not suitable for a Speedway stadium. Regular chaos and queues at the junction, so words fail me! 2
