Birmingham vs King’s Lynn - June 24th 2024

It’s a weird one, pairing your second best rider with potentially your best. It also now means Brennan’s rides are over and done with (bar heat 15) by heat 10, leaving Lampart in heat 14. Would make more sense to switch them round.

It makes sense to keep your best 2 riders in different heats other than heat 15.

Looking for 5-1’s in Heats 1, 6 and 10 and a 4-2 in heat 8

I think Brum have done it right, Brennan's last race 10 , we have Pawlicki in heats 11 & 14 and Flint 12 , if either of those are not firing and we are  6 down he could come in as a T/S.

The away sides always pickup in the later heats !.

If you’re planning your home meetings based on using a tac sub in heats 12 and 14, then you may aswell not bother at all.

Lindgren is past his best.

Artem Laguta would have been a much better signing.

What number 1 doesn't win heats 1,13 and 15?

Short answer,Laguta

That's Brummies clinched the wooden spoon then.

In defence of their team manager, their riders are so inconsistent, it's hard to know when to give a reserve an extra ride. I would have dropped Worrall from heat 13 but then he beats Kvech. I would have been looking to give Flint an extra ride, but he ran a last in heat 12!

Get in.

A big thank you to the guests, but it's daft that Tungate's max tonight could in theory ultimately cost Oxford a play off place and sneak Lynn in. Bonkers.

Need more from the reserves going forward but a very pleasing evening. On to Sheffield we go.

I'll take it! Makes a change for guests to do well for Lynn. Lawson has been an excellent choice at home and now Tungate and Ellis.

If we can keep this up till Tobias and Nicolai return I'll be very happy

Guests were excellent tonight, and pretty solid from the top 5 considering we were away from home.We do need more from the reserves though as Baggy has said.Thing is going forward we won't always be able to get guests like that, especially if 6 sides are racing leaving only one to choose from.Need to replace Klindt imo as he won't be back any time soon i wouldnt have thought.

Team line-up cost Birmingham tonight.

Steve Worrall riding at No.5 again after struggling drastically all season when riding in a Heat Leader position was utter madness.

I wonder if there is a Robert Lambert size hole to replace Nicolai?

Steve does better at 2,being at 5 in premiership is not his level, TM tactics lost brum the match imo

They certainly didn't help, Worrall is not a heat leader whereas Brennan has shown numerous times this season he can do a job at No5, choice of guests was key for the Stars, and has been proven for years gate and go for the most part at Perry Barr.
