Glasgow v Berwick CL , 21/6/24@19-30

Regardless who isn't doing what we hoped they would , watching Bomber every home meeting , especially when he misses the gate , is why we love speedway .

That meeting was in danger of getting away from us last night as mid meeting Berwick looked the stronger side , but our captain , with some incredible overtaking , inspired us to the win .

Think you right but might fancied Hagon

Think whoever was in heat 13 , whether it was Etheridge,  Hagon or Garrad , there was a good chance they weren't going to beat Harris and Worrall . Hagon would have been more effective in heat 14 .

The way he got the drive out of bend 4 to get passed was friggin incredible. What I couldn't understand was how it appeared Leon took the exact same line but wasn't getting anywhere near the same drive.

What a brilliant night of speedway. After the heat 8 shambles thought we were going to lose the meeting but we pulled through in the end. A wee bit of advice  to young Mr Hagon, your meant to turn left on the 1st bend of a race. It's speedway not roller ball.

Inside gate , racing line , front wheels ahead of the rest, turns his bike and it’s all 4 back. Boy rides with balls. Nobody yelled and booed yer skipper when he nearly fenced him on bend 2 . Rose tinted glasses me thinks.

Hagon would have maximised his return in ht14 and likely won it IMO, he just got better as the night wore on. Putting him in ht13 was mental, he made a nuisance of himself initially letting Kerr build a lead but was never going to do anything against that standard of rider. He got zero points the same as Garrad would've.

Its another Dickson spectacular and potentially cost his team an away win or at the very least gone into ht15 one point ahead.

At least he tried something, don’t think it made any difference to end result. When you have a No5 who needs replaced in Ht13 you are in trouble anyway.

So trying 'something' gets him brownie points? Whatever he tried he should have ensured Hagon was in heat 14. And just a reminder Etheridge was at no.5 thanks to the team manager.

Think it’s pretty obvious to Berwick fans that Kemp and Etheridge are not a good pairing.Hence why he chanced Jye at 5 he is meant to be our 3rd Ht Leader.

Personally, I didn’t think Hagon did anything wrong and the correct decision was made.  He was holding a tight line and I felt Pijper leant heavily on to him. Just my opinion……

Looking at latest statistics we have the lowest average 3rd Heat Leader which could be Kemp when averages change on 5-70. Other clubs are around 6-30 - 7-00

Be interesting what the decision would have been if Sam had not been able to stay on his bike.

Happiest man in Ashfield last night had to be " the Grand Monarch " . He will have been in his element dishing out all those exclusions in heat 8

Anyone riding in Polish u24's does, like the slightly smaller chap doing laps in JP race suit and bike after the meeting.

Mitch Cluff was the lad on JP's bike. They are team mates in Poland. He loved Ashfield , said its so much fun to ride and the banking is brilliant.

Oh, Bomber would've been excluded, no doubt about that. It was a hard move, and not one he usually pulls. He knew how important it was to make the move.

And yes, Jim McGregor is a tool. He excluded Jack Smith before the two minutes expired! Not that Jack would've made them anyway.

The starting Marshall was waving his hands at Jack like a petrified matador . It’s not as if you can’t see the clock. The move on Hagin by Bomber could have been a nasty one but it wasn’t so I’m sure Sam takes it as a learning tool and carries on . Big future for that boy me thinks
