eric i
Should be a similar scoreline to last time Redcar came.

Yearbyred
Well I’m hoping the Bears put up a decent performance. Will be watching on the excellent Scunthorpe streaming service.
IronScorpion
I will do a Steve Shovlar take on this. A potential banana skin meeting as Redcar will be seeking an improvement in form & result so will want to turn us over. Wright, I expect, will be their leader & have been strengthened with the inclusions of Gilkes for Knudsen & Zischke as a guest for King. With Edwards being a danger as well, we will need to be on it & not be complacent. If Redcar are on it then it could be a score of 43 - 47 either way. If not, then it could be a 57 - 33 score line. scunny1
Redcar's new signing and the on form guest make them much stronger. Scorpions need to be on it and continue their form from the last meeting.
szkocjasid
Making my first visit to Scunthorpe since before the pandemic, despite it being a nice day, I'll wrap up well as I always remember it being cold lol! Can you pay by card at Scunny? Ta

szkocjasid
Ref was very slow to put on the red lights in heat 7 when Ablitt fell. Can the track staff just put their flags out of they think the refs not doing his job properly?

The Referee is in control of meeting, it is his responsibility to get things right.

I guess if a track staff member was that concerned about a riding & put the flag out before the red light, the worst that would happen is losing their no doubt voluntary job. szkocjasid
Refs done the complete opposite now, out the red lights on immediately when Zischke fell, while it did look bad, he was quickly up & cleared the track. Had the ref waited for half a laptop see if he was moving, may have made a different decision.

Didn’t affect the overall result but poor refereeing imo. Edited May 31 by Yearbyred

Yearbyred
Some very good racing despite the score line and the delays caused by the tape issues. Very inconsistent refereeing didn’t help things but Scunthorpe were always well in control and always looked like comfortable winners. Few bright spots for the Bears, Wright battled as always and Bailey looked much better as the meeting went on. Gilkes had one excellent ride. Zischke had a fantastic first race then tailed off. Scunthorpe are strong at home and Howarth seems to have upped his performance. Could even afford an off night for Lambert and win easily.
Shrimmy
Charles wright is so good to watch around EWR..the race against Jake Allen was awesome with millimetres between them coming out of bend three
Robinh88
Scunthorpe are a good side at home. I was surprised by the guest choice but meh looks like it is going to be one of those seasons. Big match tomorrow for Redcar. It is winnable for sure and hopefully when Danny King gets back he can inject some more points scoring into the collective. This is depressing!
Albert
Some fantastic racing... credit to both teams. Shame about the tapes fiasco though, somewhat ruined a good meeting.. Poor refereeing, shocking. Hope that's the last we see of Seth Perkin at Scunny for a while.
