IainB
4 heat winners, 3 of them from Lawson, against a make shift Ippo team... let down by our Wolves in sheep's clothing again. Ippo should have been there for the taking, especially on a weather effected track. Keep Lawson... bin the rest! We'll have a Birmingham scrap come Monday... TTT
Take a bow Scott Nicholls. Sam Masters is becoming the most disappointing rider in the entire league this season when you take into consideration that returning Polish riders haven't been used to British tracks for a good few years. No excuse for Masters to keep putting up these 5's and 6's whilst being protected in the engine room when signed on a 7+ GSA. Richard Lawson having to cover for Max Fricke's poor away form is becoming a regular occurrence.
40-38
Not sure what the issue with Fricke is, maybe he's just got his focus elsewhere. Lawson apart the top 5 ought to be ashamed of those scores.
GeneralMelchett
When Leicester opened with a 5-1 I thought Witches might be in trouble but it was a gaters track tonight if you got out of the gate you generally scored - there was a bit of passing but not a lot! Nicholls certainly rolled back the years with a vintage display - good to see Jordan J get his first race win for the Witches (did I imagine that) he seemed well pleased with his heat 8 win anyway. Also the meeting ran very quickly all done by just after 9!
Robbobee
Lions are ok at home but pretty ordinary away from Beaumont Park. Not emough race winners to do any damage in this League I am afraid. Hats off to Lawson - good performance from him .... to be fair to Fricke paid for 8 from 3 and then tailed off when you need him most - rest just solid but not enough. Hey ho - at least we will see a few more wins at BP! Cheers
Robbobee
Lions missed opportunities at a depleted Sheffield last week and a depleted Ippo this week - good to see Scottie still has it though!
FishersGate
Fair play Scott Nicholls. Top class and just a true British speedway legend. As for the Lions, apart from Lawson the rest seem to ride decent one week and absolutely bang average the next. Fricke can only score at home, Douglas has been decent but isn't a true support for Fricke at home. Masters and Becker have been major disappointments and the reserves the less said the better. Mr Dave Hemsley was right when I spoke to him at the start of the season, he thinks this team is rubbish and so far he's right..
Falcon1983
Ipswich through yet some riders getting put down despite them playing a role in past success

Hey ho - at least we will see a few more wins at BP! Cheers Agreed. A top four finish is easily achievable, but there is no way the Lions will over turn BelleVue, Sheffield or Ipswich over two legs in the play offs. We have recently faced two of these teams (away) who have fielded the weakest side they will field all season due to injuries and we still couldn’t land a blow. Whilst speedway is a team sport (which is why this is the only motor sport that interests me), the current heat format puts heavy emphasis on having two big hitters that can be called upon at the back end of a meeting. Compare the Lions team with those mentioned above and we are clearly fourth best.

Great ride by Jordan in heat 8, backing up the paid win in heat 2 So glad he’s got his first win and no doubt relieved to have that off his back I might not have a voice in the morning though !! Great - he really celebrated and i felt it was his first Witches win and on the night he featured in the programme about being a former Witches mascot too!

Scotty still a class act at 46, yeah he can struggle round the bigger tracks but can still hustle it round Foxhall and the smaller tracks like a rider half his age, shame he couldn't of been tempted back to Foxhall for one last season b4 he finally calls time on a fine career.
