Bash
Need all the witches to be on it Thursday especially Batch. Covering Doyle with RR doesn't work as two of his rides are covered by a 5 & 4 point rider, and you lose him to heat 15. With Leicester replacing Kemp with Cook, this has banana skin written all over it.
GeneralMelchett
My last 2 intended visits to Foxhall were rained off so hoping for 3rd time lucky - could be tricky with injuries and leicester probably feeling a bit chipper after dispatching Oxford quite easily last night - can the Witches do enough to hold on for the overall win? Adam will be a miss for sure as he scores well at Foxhall - lets hope for no more injuries through on aggregate - however given the Witches won the cup last year surely focus on the league in 2024 (get the excuses in early)
Arch Stanton
The guts has completely been ripped out of the team unfortunately. We were clearly the best team in the league but this is speedway we all know it can happen. More worrying to me was Hawkins’ negative vibe in last nights match report “We lost the bonus point, but it is not vital to us with our position in the league but if we now start to struggle because we have lost a lot of riders then come the end of the year, this lead we have pulled out over the other teams will soon vanish”. And in today’s meeting preview he admits they have no clue on how long they’ll be out for. Bash is right you just can’t run R/R for Jason Doyle with half of his programmed rides taken by four and five pointers. All Leicesters riders go well here and now Craig Cook is at reserve it makes it even more difficult. Even if we progress, we go to a Lindgren led Birmingham in the semi’s next week with the same problems we had last night. Disaster really. Aries
Ipswich should look in to signing a GP rider (or ex) as a 28 day injury replacement for Doyle. That will at least ease the burden on finding a suitable guest for Ellis with King the nearest to return. The worry is, making sure the riders are properly fit before bringing them back in. Bringing them back half fit and struggling on track brings just as many problems as fielding inferior guests! Chuck some of Guy’s notes at Dudek for a month. Bash
Can't understand going RR when only four premiership teams in action. Could we not have got someone like Bewley to guest for Doyle? No problem with Nicholls but could've gone for someone like Ben Cook a better option than Batch. I know they have said that the two guests aren't associated with any Premiership clubs, but BV are out of the cup so it's not going to affect BV's league position. Scored 5, 4 and 5 last year for Peterborough, and a big fat zero for Belle Vue this year! Batch a far better bet.

Be interesting to see how Batch does on his day he could be very good and he seems to be enjoying life up at Workington so far

Craig Cook is indeed good at Foxhall more often than not.

Could be an ideal trial for the rider as well as helping us out. It gives him or someone similar who has dabbled with the idea of doing the UK but didn’t want to commit to a full season, the perfect opportunity to give it a go. If it’s to their liking, it gives them encouragement for a contract here in 2025, or staying on here this season and join someone else when Doyle returns. There’s bound to be clubs looking for a quality rider in a month or so’s time.
