Personally I've never watched a good meeting around Leicester whether it's on Eurosport or BSN. Like most fans I too was bored but I can understand why Dickson produced the track the way he did. The former Wolves boys love a gaters paradise, Lawson is a gater but the most important thing is that Bomber Harris isn't a gater at all and the very slick track basically nullified any kind of threat he possessed pre-meeting. Because as stated by Max Fricke the riders wanted a slicker track, with grippier gates.

A couple of riders binning it with nobody near them, didn't come close. Best bit for me was the bloke leaning up against the pits wall having a not-so crafty smoke, in camera shot just past Abbi Stephens. It badly needed a proper racetrack, it’s clear it was prepared for the Lions team of trappers, Kemp was the obvious winner, two fantastic gates and won them both easily, missed the gate in his other two and never looked like passing anyone. At the end of the day Speedway is about racing, not about trapping and first corners, I watched Sayfutdinov in one heat from last night’s match when the Brummies pairing beat him into the first bend, 4 laps of proper racing, it had more passing in one heat than I saw all night at Leicester. Until promoters and track men get to grips with preparing a track that produces more lines than the one around the white line this sport will stay in decline. The last two Grand Prixs shows it can be done, Warsaw and Landshut were exceptional meetings. I have attended several meetings at Leicester over the years and have yet to see a decent race meeting, it’s a tidy stadium and the facilities are good but the most important bit is the racing and unfortunately last night’s meeting does nothing to tempt me to attend a live match there again, Edited May 30 by bigcatdiary
GeneralMelchett
Largely agree with the comnments about the quality of the racing / lack of passing last night, the other factor is that as Leicester were clearly dominating in the meeting we didnt even have a close scoreline to keep the interest going. The drone shots showing the overview of the track suggest to me the inner training track is a better shape for racing it seemed more bowl like as opposed to the main circuit wich seems ton have narrower bends and longer straights. the hobbit
I have watched speedway for nearly fifty years , been to every British track snd many around Europe. spent half a season watching leicesters home meetings. By that time , I was so bored with the standard of entertainment, I found I was spending more time talking to the fans around me than watching the racing. Didn’t attend after that may as well race on tarmac, for all the dirt there is at Leicester. !!! No matter what changes and tinkering you’ve done over the years, you will never overcome the disaster that was created from a blank canvas, unless you completely scrap the entire track snd start again with a completely different shape and lets be honest, that’s never going to happen yes there are some overtakes, few and far between but I find once the riders have done the first two bends, that’s it unless someone makes a mistake I wouldn’t attend Leicester anymore , not even if you paid all my travel expenses, my admission snd the cost of having to take a days holiday from work to attend. It’s the most boring, uninspiring track I’ve ever attended in nearly 50 years Edited May 29 by the hobbit

I have you on mute as I assume many other people do. as you talk utter bullrubbish all the time. I was merely replying to posts other people had made and expressing my opinion, one I am entitled to hold why can’t you ever accept other people’s views? down to your lobotomy perhaps ? I thought I had accepted your view and offered to start a petition with you to get the place closed down. Why so touchy? I suppose one positive of you not attending anymore is that you're not bothering all those people around you, we should all be grateful for small mercies. This place must be closed NOW!
