Eurosport showed races from Brum all night then neglect to show heat 15 and the super heat, you can always rely on Eurosport to let you down. They really should have been at Brum tonight. As for Leicester, as solid a display as it was, still only 1 rider returning double figures, when they come up against teams with 2 decent heat leaders they're going to continue to come unstuck in my opinion If you watch on discovery plus if you have it obviously lol they show every heat from the 2nd match and no adverts

But we did attend and had the best of both worlds. We watched the speedway live and got Discovery+ on a phone and watched all the reports from the other meetings and the replays from the races we'd just seen live. This had an added bonus. The Discovery+ pictures aren't quite live. If something happens live e.g. someone falling, you can quickly refer to your phone and see what happened.

Why the staging promotion at the televised events can't do the same is pretty poor tbh, can you imagine being stood there while they went to a break and then came back and had a right laugh doing a totally irrelevant British Final draw before re-commencing with the meeting? We were wondering why they couldn't at least play the Discovery+ sound over the PA during the breaks. At least you could hear any interviews and reports from the other meetings even if you couldn't see the pictures. And I agree with your comments about the British Final draw. A complete non event. It could have been improved (very slightly) by a graphic showing the rider names in the 1 to 16 as they were drawn. But the extended delay during a live meeting (which was further extended by chat with Phil Morris) was very poor. Especially for the fans in the crowd who just stood around not even knowing what was going on. The crowd was of good size last night. Larger than I've seen before for TV meetings. Please, please don't piss off the fans when this can be so easily fixed. Edit: there was an announcement during the British Final draw saying that it was taking place. But small consolation eh? When quality racers struggle to pass then it just shows a track prepared for gating and entertainment goes out of the window. Enjoyed the racing from Birmingham shown tonight in the track grade intervals. When will promoters get in their heads that ENTERTAINMENT should be their priority This is so true, that was a hard watch indeed. Very poor advert for Premiership Speedway. Odds On
Probably get shot down for this. Abi brings nothing to the show, no in depth or history of the sport...for all of her knowledge you may as well have a rider doing what she does, better knowledge and will be able to give more in depth interviews with riders and links...when Oxford had 3 riders on the track, she hasn't the charisma or relationship with a rider/team to ask and joke about it. Janowski, lets all be honest he isn't going to be a cheap asset to Oxford, Looks way off of it for a GP rider. Lawson, impressed me, riding at #2 is one of the hardest positions in a team, fully deserved his heat 15 appearance. Tungate, a real battler but not sure he's an out and out #1. Track was far to slick, devoid of entertainment which resulted in a poor advert for the sport Drone shot, atrocious and needs binning until it actually works.

The Camera angles looked better and racing kept in focus , I liked the aerial drone footage as well to give good beauty shots without disrupting like it is in the GPs However as others have commented Speedway does need dual commentary for TV I know Louis was at Birmingham and Steady had been at Belle Vue all day but am sure they could have found a rider from another track Josh Pickering, Rory Schlein etc Just a shame the actual racing was complete Shyte
FishersGate
Unfortunately we're stuck with this track as well. The racing was decent last year until Stewart decided to mess around with it AGAIN and take the camber off. Ever since then it hasn't been the same. I noticed that in his first race Luke Becker looked as though he had a go pro attached to the left side of his handle bars and it was sticking up so much it almost obstructed his vision of the tapes. I thought we were going to see some footage from it but we never did, whether it was a prototype or for his own personal use I don't know... not even sure it was a camera tbh
TTT
The win was more important to Leicester than producing a good spectacle last night, It was a must win 6 pointer really and they needed a big lead to try and get the BP as well. Personally I've never watched a good meeting around Leicester whether it's on Eurosport or BSN. Like most fans I too was bored but I can understand why Dickson produced the track the way he did. The former Wolves boys love a gaters paradise, Lawson is a gater but the most important thing is that Bomber Harris isn't a gater at all and the very slick track basically nullified any kind of threat he possessed pre-meeting.

What did you think was wrong with the Drone shots ? I would much rather see the surrounding area than pictures of Bill and Florence sitting in the stands eating their Cheese Sandwich and cup of Bovril . i don’t like the FPV done in GP when it’s trying to chase the racing but last nights worked well
Hamish McRaker
It badly needed a "racing incident" or two, to distract from the tedious processions. A couple of riders binning it with nobody near them, didn't come close. Best bit for me was the bloke leaning up against the pits wall having a not-so crafty smoke, in camera shot just past Abbi Stephens.

What about the new "double tac sub" rule might have livened things up.

Winning at home is THE ONLY PRIORITY.. Because.. If you win at home most weeks you can get into the play offs... And if you get into the play offs you could win the title.. And if you win the title, you could get a half page mention in your local paper which hardly anyone buys anymore.. And, after waiting for six months, the following season you can build on the momentum of winning the league by having to change your team to give others a chance, maybe even having to lose a fans favourite or two... Or maybe you could even change the league you race in, as you have had enough of riding in the one you have just won, and fancy changing what nights you ride.... Really, really important to win at home at all costs... Entertainment? No chance mate, get that dirt off that track!!!
