Poole Pirates Vs Berwick Bandits 29th May

Recommended Posts

Weather permitting, on Wednesday the Pirates take on the Bandits for league points.

Not sure if Lewis Kerr will be riding or will there be a guest.

To make  it interesting, the Bandits have 3 ex Pirates in thier ranks, namely Rory Schlein, Danyon Hume and Drew Kemp.

Poole did get a last gasp win at Shielfield Park back in early May so the Bandits will be up for revenge.

Apart from Max Perry who is struggling with his gating we are on form so it should be a good contest. Berwick have Bastian Borke at reserve and he could be a trump card for them.

Without appearing to be over confident I feel that the Pirates should  come out on top in this encounter with our current home form.

Thoughts.

The Bandits, led by Stewart Dickson who sacked a former Berwick rider (& Pirate favourite) at Leicester last year Chris Harris. Not a wise decision & shows a weakness in his decision making. Always great to get one over Dickson, was fantastic when we beat him in the play off final vs Leicester and we've already beat him up at Berwick!

Pirates will look to a stronger start than against the Gladiators so this is going to be dominant display.

Not totally dismissing the Bandits with Schlein & co looking to get some pride back. I think nipper Borke cud be productive at reserve & Schlein will score a few

Another 15pt max for Lawson leading the way for us Pirates will inspire the team to victory. And I'm thinking Max will shake off his struggles to contribute to the score.

I'm going @Steve Shovlar 60-30 to the Pirates!

C'mon the Boyzzzz :t:

As long as track prep and weather are similar to last couple of weeks then I can't see the Bandits getting close

54-36

Track prep definately. Weather who knows.

Making my first trip to Poole to watch Dicksons Bandits, not overly hopeful of anything and if this seasons form for the home team are anything to go by I’d be happy if we managed to hit 30.

Maybe I’ll get a flat white on my travels though, hopefully it will be fluffy.

Yes I highly recommend a Costa flat white because as u mention they are fluffy which relaxes every part that other coffee's don't :D

Suitable for Hamsters :t:

Perfect time to come back, zero pressure with no one expecting Bandits to get any points from the fixture.

Yes I hope he does well, he has had a few injuries and one particular horrific one, he deserves better luck.

Kerr had a promising start to the season, while it hasn't hurt Oxford or Berwick due to guests / replacements, Kerr will want to get back to where he was. Good luck to him.

I would think Oxford could d0 with him back and you could say they should have him back. It is a shame Magic is off form for Oxford as he seems to be going better in Poland now, not sure how patient they can be. He was always terrific at the Leicester track with good battles against Doyley, I know that was a few years ago but he seems to be trying hard but just doesn't have the speed. If Oxford replace him though I would think they need a GP rider, Kerr should be a reserve.

Kerr back for Oxford Spires in Premiership. Craig Cook completes his 28 day cover and moves to Leicester, replacing Drew Kemp at reserve?!!!

Not sure what any of that means for the Pirates v Bandits fixture, but hey ho!!

Looking forward to another visit to WINborne Road tomorrow and watching the amazing racing with the Pirates leading the way.

Sam Hagon is brilliant to watch and will be looking to take some more scalps so look out messrs Kerr & Schlein!

Kemp will be even more peed off, after being sacked by his Berwick team manager at Leicester, when he leaves Poole with nothing more than a doggy bag!
