Not sure who’s at fault but not a good day for BV management. No way to run a meeting and they wonder why crowds are dwindling fast. Puzzled by Lemons comments, most bizarre? He doesn’t seem to know what’s going on? As for the feeble ref well enough said. The only ones to come out with some credit is the BV track staff who really give it a good try. Lemon knew what was going on, his first statement was the truth, he's been told by someone to retract it, but its still the truth. The track was surely raceable at that point, we waited 90 mins and it was clearly safe enough to give it a go. THE DEAN MACHINE
After a little reflection time, track was very wet even before heat 1, fair play to riders for cracking on despite dreadful visibility, track actually rode ok, after heat 4 they did lots of track work while sun was out which imo took far to long, racing resumed but in no rush, got to 10 when the heavens opened again for 20mins pretty much flooded the track, at that point meeting should of been called off, obviously BV wanted to carry on, however a long track work happened and after it the track was pretty good considerings and at that point after making fans wait for what seemed forever the meeting should of carried on, However with bikes warming up a paramedic was clearly seen showing her displeasure to the team managers and referee and then lemon made the announcement that because of her it was off, personally I was angry that this person even has a say, for me the ref should of made a decision as soon as the rain came after 10 but I suppose there must of been will from riders to carry on so I’m not sure where the blame is and apart from that paramedic we would of seen the match completed

hasta la vista
Medical personnel don't have the authority to make a call on a meetings status unless they are short of medical cover at that time. Therefore it's hard to believe that what is being written here is true.

It is UK Speedway after all.... Rinse and Repeat ad infinitum.. Nothing really changes, so a waste of time and money having investigations etc... Just crack on with the rest of the season and lets get all giddy for the play offs, and the "bumper crowds" they bring, plus the return of Robert Lambert to one of the four teams, and the chance to play the annual "Who will Bomber guest for?" Bingo.. Breaking News. Those who run UK Speedway are not very good at it... They were not very good at it 25 years ago, and stll wont be much good at it in 25 years time.. (Assuming it is still with us, obviously).. Edited May 27 by mikebv 2

4BenMoran
After the ht10 deluge there was no way that it should have taken that long to call it. BV were struggling out of the traps and needed something like 20+ points from 5 races to win which wasn’t going happen. Should have been called there and then rather than treat the paying fans with contempt. Lemon should have admitted defeat and put it to bed when it was obvious to all what was going to happen, as now Belle Vue haven’t come out of today looking good at all from both people who paid on the gate and those reading the online/social media comments
Manifesto
Firstly I think the tractor bloke did a cracking job first time round of sorting track out after 4 races of whoever’s at the back gets covered. I feel they could have pushed the meeting through abit faster than they did (not saying 15 heats would have rbeen raced though). When the rain come after heat 10 that was it, the track was done for. If the aces had been winning by 10 points it would have been called within 5 mins. Absolute joke tbf how long it dragged on, I left before any announcements were made it was so clearly unrideable. as for the meeting itself was obviously gate and go, Sheffield were so much better which won them the meeting. Wouldn’t judge any riders too harshly on today’s showing. Edited May 27 by Manifesto

Belle Vue still wouldn’t have won but it was just getting the meeting completed.
ouch
Track was gate ‘n’ go which played into the tigers hands and this was cemented by the heat 10 finish as they would have felt properly at home. The 16 or so Sheffield fans enjoyed it as would BSF/BSN but it’s not for me. I left immediately after heat 10 as I now watch speedway if I’ve nothing better to do and I had something else on at 2.30. Can’t believe it took so long to call it off or that fans stuck around thinking it would continue. Speedway fans eh. Looking forward to the playoffs and a decent crowd/atmosphere, as this bank holiday meeting was dire and could well have been one of our last.
