An absolute p*ss take of the Belle Vue supporters  - and of British Speedway in general - if Kurtz doesn't ride after riding in the World Championship Qualifier.

There’s a preview on the Sheffield site and Kurtz named at number 1 for the Aces   Are there any weather updates ?

Travelling over for this before hopefully Leicester tonight, any update on the weather, I see Belle Vue haven’t put a preview up which is kind of worrying me, that it might be in doubt?

TBH with you. Weather took a right turn for the worse with rain most morning.

and with us most likely using rr at one against Sheffield a postponement is belle vues easiest decision to make

As I look out at the rain now (10 miles from the NSS) and playing Devil's Advocate, I'm thinking it might well be a case of:-

"Get the big Bank Holiday crowd in, rush like mad through 10 heats and then call the rest of the meeting off"

Not sure I'd be venturing over if I wasn't a season-ticket holder?

Tbf to Brady. Hes in Spain seeing a specialist to sort this

Hmm... medically he's either fit to ride or he isn't. As captain of The Aces I'd expect better.

I see Lemo made a point of congratulating him on his GP qualification in the same sentence as saying he wouldn't be riding because of injury.

He spent a lot of money to travel to aus and do the championships and and ride in that oceana meeting to qualify for it. I don’t blame him for giving it a go.

if you saw the meeting Saturday you would see he could hardly walk and get in and off the bike

Was thinking of coming across for this but the forecast has put me off! Shame as I have yet to see a meeting at the NSS - maybe SWC or whatever it’s called nowadays!

That's a fair comment Phil - but the day-to-day supporter will still be very disappointed and may well feel 'cheated' by his absence. The optics just don't look when he scored well, and qualified to the next stage of the World Championship, riding in an event between two Aces fixtures that he's missing through injury.

This has been going on for years, I remember Peter Collins finishing second in a world final then missing subsequent Belle Vue fixtures with injury.

Sheffield should win this but we’ll still qualify so it doesn’t matter, which btw is what a lot of former fans realised since the play offs came in. Saves them doing a complete season and provides big crowds for the final - right.

And, on days like today,

Saves me around £100 as the result will be largely irrelevant in the context of a top four finish..

Dont worry I doubt it will be on. Rain will be the winner.

Looking at the amount of seats left in the grandstand currently, it may not be a bad result..

For a BHM meeting v Sheffield it is very surprising...

SON and BF ticket costs impacting the Aces' "bread and butter" meetings?
