Tate's words as quoted from the Speedway Star article iainb   ' Recently, I got a Premiership offer for this year. I really wanted to do it but Darcy said , ' just calm down a bit'. We'll look at that next year.

Sound advice in my book.

The kid's got talent... I wonder why he wasn't advised to go to Poole?

Another great meeting today, well done to the Cheetahs who were competitive throughout and helped produce some top notch racing. 8 points down after heat 12 the Cheetahs responded by pulling 6 of those points back in the next two heats to take it to squeaky bum time and a last heat decider. Well done to Captain Cook for winning heat 15 and securing the two points.

Hard to believe that the track looked on the dry side after all the rain we had on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hope the Cheetahs fans who made the journey enjoyed the racing and safe journey home.

The article states that both Darcy and Tate thought Worky were the best of the clubs they talked to.

Theirs more teams than Poole, maybe darcy and tate thinks the track and the worky fans  are better than Poole.  :PTo put it in football terms Poole are like man utd of speedway, but man utd  are/were a big name club , but would you want a youngster to go to man utd  now ?

Interesting, no pressure I suppose.

Poole are still the team to beat though, so they're more like the Man City of Speedway. Worky are more the Man Utd trying to rekindle former glories :D

Hmm, not sure MF will like us being compared to Man City, as I think he is a United fan? :o:D

I think they’ve seen what Steve Lawson has done for Bewley and working with him may turn him into a Bewley 2.0 (the kid is going to be world class no doubt), and that he has pretty much unlimited track access for practice etc has a lot to do with it, plus why wouldn’t you it’s a superb place.

I love that Darcy has had to tell someone else to calm down! :D

Also not surprised at the advice, I think he did 2 years? at KL before moving up. Chris Holder and Brady Kurtz also did 2 years before moving up as well if I remember correctly.

Wonder which clubs approached him in Prem? If KL I would stay clear of them atm!

Exactly the same reasons he should have come to Leicester to get some PL experience, Stewart Dickson would have taken good care of him, unlimited track time and also a superb place ()

Considering Prem clubs are interested, it won't be long til Poland want him in one of their top 2 leagues. So will be surprised if he is in the Champ for more than 2 seasons. Would make the most of it!

You'd have to think it's teams with underperforming reserves, Leicester or Sheffield. Lynn have Rowe and Woj and surely you wouldn't replace either of those

Darcy only spent 1 season at King's Lynj, in the middle tier. 2009.

Than you would think Sheffield be the obvious choice cos of the Aussie connection and Tai. But that would be in place of Edwards as assuming Gilkes is RS?

Not that it matters if he turned it down (or Darcy did!) Be interesting to know though.

Darcy had one season in the second tier before stepping up, Chris Holder had 2. Might have to go all the way back to Leigh Adams to find the next Aussie who did one season then stepped up to the top flight.

If Zischke doesn't want to step up.thod year, can take guest bookings (visa allowing) ahead of next season, when I'm sure he'll be doubling up.

Zischke would have a 4.62 converted average, wouldn't fit into the Sheffield or Leicester team in place of a reserve. Possibly Lynn in place of MPT or Birmingham would've been after him?

Please don't spoil a good conspiracy theory with your facts!

Great racing t Workington again.  This track and Belle Vue have to be a blueprint for any new tracks that may be built in the future (**cough** Swindon)

Heat 4 was a very strange decision by the ref. Sam McGurk clearly brought Luke Killeen off. You could see the bump when they collided and Sam was snaking afterwards. I can only think that the ref was watching Troy and Scott going at it hammer and tongs half a lap ahead at the time.

Tate Zischke looks like he is going to be one hell of a rider. There's a future GP rider right there! (No pressure).

They said on BSN that Celina was taken ill on her flight and is in hospital. Hope she is ok.
