Workington v Oxford championship 3pm 25/05/24

Recommended Posts

Just been to Workington for the first time since it was the little training track, what a superb race track, imo best this country has, great little set up there too with great viewing and close to the seafront too what’s not to love

Ref tucking into his chips there and not watching heat 4. One of the most obvious decisions there to exclude mcgurk and excludes Killeen.

Not watched back

But from track Sam was in front so why excluded him dont think they touched each other

Great meeting the comets sneaked a win, but if Oxford team manager gave Ashton Boughen another ride they could have won the meeting . But it's a win to the comets and top of the league agen :D

Ht 8 was awesome

Tate could have went down on first bend when he got shoved out

Last going over line starting lap 2 first over line end of lap

Hopefully tate gets asked to do the ben fund would love to see what he can do against some top riders

Missed due to work so cant comment on that but he did only score 1 point so hardly a big miss!

Killeen would have been third in heat 4 had he not been excluded so match would have been a draw.

One downside if Zischke racing at 2, is he finished his rides very early. Could that be why he wasn't used in heat 15?

Not that Batchelor was a bad choice this week, far from it.

Well done Comets, great meeting and my number 1did a captain's job to win the meeting, good to see Conner having some good races too, Tate Zische is a delight to watch and will go far, Comets fans are lucky to be able to watch him every home meeting, we had that delight with Basso last season, Comets are my second team this season, was Berwick last season but you have my fave.

Fantastic match, with some superb racing, Workington really is a great track. But given my Oxford allegiance more than a little bit miffed by that ht 4 decision.

Possibly waited too long for Tac Sub.

Think they where going to give him the ride in heat 11 but where far enough behind to use a tactical substitute instead of Boughen but was only a 3-3.

Not only was it a poor decision to exclude Kileen it should also have been re-run, how the ref could call it with 1 lap to go when the previous 3 had seen the lead change hands numerous times is beyond comprehension. Terrible refereeing!

Great meeting to watch and a real captains ride from Cook to seal the points in the last race. Why Zischke hasn't been snapped up by a PL club is a bit of a mystery

Make it over 2 days travelodge a few minutes away often cheap deals £50-60 a room. See the speedway and visit the lakes
