Facebook Speedway Groups

Recommended Posts

I have no idea what's going on...

Karl Fiala's "Speedway Friends" group has been deactivated, because it "broke community guidelines".

Now, I've just tried to get on the "Old Time Speedway" group, and I can't find that. Any of you on that group, and have seen that deactivated - or is it just me?

or has Karl just thrown his toys out the pram again?

That still wouldn't explain why two groups have gone missing...

Maybe something going on with the word speedway ? I noticed Paulco had a post taken down. All it was , was mentioning he was at a speedway meeting. And it broke Facebook rules, and someone said they had the same thing happen. Seems strange

That's what I said! After I read Karl's post, I went to get on that, and it had disappeared.

Yeah, you read some of the comments on Karl's post, and there are several people who've had their groups taken down.

Trouble is, all they ever say that it "violates community standards", but they never tell you how.

Seems like "speedway" really is a dirty word these days...

Strangely it could be the word JAP, I and others have had several warnings about using it when talking about the engine ,same as you can’t say tranny when referring to a ford transit

Facebook is a law unto itself. Several months ago there was a spate of porn videos posted on the New Cross Supporters page. I reported them to Facebook and they replied that they did not go against their community standards!

The way Facebook seem to operate, is if someone reports something then they take it down or hand someone a ban, without bothering to check if there really is something offensive. I guess because there are some many reports from so many offended people, they are overwhelmed

Yeah, that was one... Like we English aren't allowed to talk about eating f*ggots...

Thinking about THE DEAN MACHINE's comment above, I don't understand why so many straightforward words and phrases in the English language have become forbidden, just because some idiot uses them in a derogatory manner. To illustrate the problem, here is a pic I posted on Facebook earlier...
